Hi,
I would like to include the testimonial slider on one extra page on my site (note: not on all pages).
How do I make this happen? And how do I set which of my references will be shown in what order?Regards,
PauloApril 27, 2020 at 1:07 am #244271SkandhaParticipant@paulospotonlichtontwerp-nl: Hello Paulo,
Can you please enable the Testimonial Section on the entire site and let me know on which pages you would like to enable the section?
Are you using Category type?Kind Regards,
SkandhaApril 27, 2020 at 4:27 am #244315Paulo van CuijckParticipantHi Skandha,
I’d like to use the testimonial slider on both the Homepage and the page English of my site https://paulovancuijck.nl/staging2/
The thing is that I’d like to use different testimonials on the page English than the ones I’ve included on the Homepage.
When enabling the Testimonial Section on the entire site it shows the same testimonials on all pages.
Is it possible to keep the testimonial slider on the homepage as it is now, and have another slider with different testimonials set on the page English?Regards,
PauloApril 27, 2020 at 6:04 am #244332SkandhaParticipant@paulospotonlichtontwerp-nl: Hello Paulo,
Yes that is possible. You seem to have used Custom type in the Testimonial Section in the customizer so enable the on Homepage.
For the testimonial you want to setup on your English page.
Go to => Dashboard => Testimonials => Add your testimonial posts here. Then,
Edit your page English where you want another testimonial slider => Add Block => Widgets => Shortcode => Add the text
[testimonials]
Let me know if this works out!
Kind Regards,

This way a testimonial slider appears on that position on my English page indeed.
But it shows the same testimonials the same way as on my homepage, are written in Dutch.
In total I have written 16 testimonials, 8 in Dutch and 8 in English.
On my English page, I just want to show the testimonials written in English.
Is it possible to choose which of the 16 testimonials will be revealed on the English page, notably the 8 in English?Regards,
Paulo
April 27, 2020 at 4:59 pm #244439Paulo van CuijckParticipantIn addition to my previous post: I see now that upon adding the shortcode all 16 testimonials are shown below each other and not in a slider.
April 29, 2020 at 2:02 am #244724SkandhaParticipant@paulospotonlichtontwerp-nl: Hello Paulo,
I am afraid it is not possible to categorize the testimonial you want to show up while using the shortcode. Can you let me know what shortcode you used in your English page?Kind Regards,
SkandhaApril 29, 2020 at 3:37 am #244742Paulo van CuijckParticipantHi Skandha,
I used this shortcode: [testimonials columns=1 showposts=8 orderby=date]
It works but shows all the testimonials below each other thus using a lot of space.
If this – using a different shortcode – could work in a slider, that would be great.May 1, 2020 at 6:31 pm #245076Paulo van CuijckParticipantHi Skandha,

I tried the same shortcode at my end and the testimonial posts are appearing in a slider.I will need to look into your site to debug the issue. I will contact you shortly by email.

SkandhaMay 5, 2020 at 7:45 am #245526Paulo van CuijckParticipantHi Skandha,
Following your advice “I used the same shortcode at my end and the testimonial posts show up in a slider. Can you try deactivating all your plugins except Essential Content Types and see if the slider shows up?”
deactivating the plugins didn’t work unfortunately. Can you dig into your settings and send me the exact shortcode you use for the testimonial slider?
Regards,
Paulo
May 5, 2020 at 7:47 am #245527Paulo van CuijckParticipantIn addition to my previous message:
Before deactivating the plugins, I updated the theme to the latest version.May 6, 2020 at 5:42 am #245658SkandhaParticipant@paulospotonlichtontwerp-nl: Hello Paulo,
The shortcode I used is[testimonials columns=2 showposts=10 orderby=title]
.
And here it is how the testimonial slider is showing up in the form a slider.I will need to look into your site to debug the issue.
