The button to search the site shows no magnifying glass image. same with social media icons. What can i do?

@mikecab: Please try doing a fresh installation of the theme and check if the search icon comes back.

I installed a different theme and deleted fotographie. Then I re downloaded it from WordPress. That did not work. I deleted the theme from an ftp site and uploaded a copy to the appropriate folder. Then applied it that way. But still no icons. Any other ideas?

update: Tried using this theme on a totally different instance of word press. (4.9.5) and got the same results. I updated that server to 4.9.6 and got the same result, I reinstalled 4.9.6 on the above mentioned site and got the same result.

@mikecab: Please try deactivating all your plugins and check if this solves the issue.

that did not work.

also set up a new sub-domain in a separate folder. installed a new instance of word press. installed the theme alone. and the issue persisted. could it be a word press issue? maybe this theme isn’t compatible with the latest version of word press? maybe something to do with my web host? im hosting through GoDaddy and using a windows server.

@mikecab: I do not think this is a theme-related issue as the icons seems to be working for others who are using the theme. I will contact you shortly by email.
