Can you please look at the following question?

Its it possible to place the social icons (three: e-mail, twitter and facebook) in the footer next to the copyright?
After solving this: my home page will be finished.

Step 1:Go to = Appearance => Customize =>Social Links =>Social Links:Add the desired social links.

Step 2:Go to = Appearance => Widgets => CT:Social Icons Select the widget area where you want to display social icons

Thank you for answering, but this did not solve my issue.
The issue was that -if it is possible- I should like to set te social icons in the footer next to the copyright content (the footer content). I did what you suggested, but now the social icons are above the footer part containing the footer content). You can see what I mean in my domain: Hagmeijer.nl

One more remark: It is also a good solution to have the social icons next to the header right menu. I also haven’t a solution for that.

@toerfiets: If you want the social links in the footer what you can do is
Go to => Appearance => Customize => Menus => Create a Menu => Give me a name to the menu => Add Items => Add items to the menu using Custom Links add the social link url to the URL area and keepLink Text empty.
After adding items to the menu select Footer Menu as Menu location.

Then I can provide you the additional CSS to display the social icons.

You can add social icons to the Header top right Corner
Go to => Appearance => Customize => Social Links => Social Links => Now you can add the links of Social Media you want to display in the header right section

Hi Skandha,

I tried both.
AT first you can see the result of positioning in the header right section on http://www.Hagmeijer.nl. I could not attach an image to this answer.
You can see the social icons are now under the site identity and that is not beautiful I should like to have them on the same height as the logo and the menu.

Second I made a social icons menu. Problem hereby is that it is not possible to add an email address. WordPress does not accept an email adres as a social link.

@toerfiets: WordPress does accept email address as a social link. As this is getting confusing what you can do is you can provide me your admin credentials to your site if that is alright so that I can insert the social link icons to the header right menu or to the footer menu or wherever you want the social links to be.

No I did not.
I explain.
The bike club has a website on http://www.toerfietsleusden.nl. That website has been built in twenty ten, about six or seven years ago. Now we want toe have a more up to date website. I prepare this one on my own domain: Hagmeijer.nl. This is to prevent disturbing the website: toerfietsleusden.nl
After finishing I move the website to toerfietsleusden.nl
If you go to Hagmeijer.nl and login with my credentials, you will see the website.

If it is better, I will move the website to ontwikkel.toerfietsleusden.nl. That is a sub domain of toerfietsleusden.nl.

Still one remark. Is it possible to change the background color of the footer menu. Now I see one big white line. I will search also to a solution. It should be the same color as the footer. If it isn’t possible, than the social icons in the header menu are also a good solution.

Hi Skandha,

Apparently I did something stupid, cause the social icons in footer menu were gone. After all, it isn’t a big thing, because the stayed in de header right menu. That will be enough.
I disable the footer menu, also because it seems to be difficult to change the background of the menu.
If it should be possible to add the email icon in the header right menu, that wille be all for this website.

You was a great help. I will recommend catchthemes to other people.
