I’m at a loss so far. Please help weigh in?
I can’t seem to get the main slider to function or interact properly. I am trying to get more than two slides despite the slider options saying there is 3 or 4. I can’t seem to change the picture through the UI but only manually replacing the “slider1.jpg” etc. through a third party ftp.
More specifically, I want to change the wording and/or active link. Looking at the forums it seems other don’t seem to have a problem. My java is up to date if that even matters. I tried going from firefox browser to chrome just to see. No difference. It seems to me that a lot of the responsiveness in the “theme options” are a little stiff. I have to copy and paste photo urls for the “featured contents” and I can’t change favicon via theme options among other little details.
I guess I’m asking for something beyond the theme instructions or at least the correct file names so I can get into php coding and alter the wording in the slider to makeshift it to my liking, although there hasn’t been much success with this yet.

Is there something I am missing? Thanks and peace be with you.

This will be overwritten when you update your theme. So, all your customization will be lost. If you want to change any core theme files then you need to build child theme and edit it.
I see that you are using Catch Everest Free theme and in this theme you only have option to add Featured Post Slider. Follow the instruction as below.
1. First create the Post and don’t forget to add in the Featured Image in the post as this image is used in the slider. To add featured image see this http://en.support.wordpress.com/featured-images/#setting-a-featured-image
2. Then get the ID of the post. When you edit your post or write a post, you will see the id in your browser address bar. You can also check our the Post ID in your ALL Posts section in WordPress Dashboard. But if you cannot find it then you can use this plugin to view it http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/catch-ids/
3. Then go to “Appearance => Theme Options => Featured Post Slider”. Add in the post id. See the screenshot on how to add Post ID http://pinterest.com/pin/548594798329984427/
August 24, 2013 at 11:06 am #13613fractalhealthMemberAre you kindly saying that if I want to change the main slider of “everest” and “nepal prayer wheels” then I will have to pay for the upgrade?
August 24, 2013 at 11:07 am #13614fractalhealthMemberwould you be willing to elaborate on the meaning of “child theme” ?
August 24, 2013 at 6:04 pm #13621SakinKeymaster@fractalhealth: You don’t need to create child theme do build Featured Post Slider. Just follow the instruction as below.
1. First create the Post and don’t forget to add in the Featured Image in the post as this image is used in the slider. To add featured image see this http://en.support.wordpress.com/featured-images/#setting-a-featured-image

I am having some trouble with getting my slider picture to respond in Chrome. It works perfectly in Safari and Firefox but it doesn’t seem to want to adjust in Chrome?
The pictures are all formatted correctly (1140×450) and they are all “Featured”
Can you think of anything else?
Best,

Looks like there is conflict with your plugin. Have you recently activated or updated any new plugins. Try deactivating plugins and check in. I feel doubt in “WooCommerce Widget Product Slider” plugin.
June 21, 2014 at 3:39 am #35677HR-FlexParticipantThank you very much. You were right 🙂
When i disabled WooCommerce Widget Product Slider, my slider worked again.
Thanks. -
