I updated my catchbox theme last night and my site is now giving a 500 error. The mobile site is working, but the desktop site will not come up.

Can you offer a starting point to look at?

I was able to at least get into my wp-admin page after editing the database and changing the theme manually.

Now I show that the Catch Box theme is showing an error the the “Stylesheet is missing”.

Can I just delete it and reinstall the theme?

Seems there was some breakage while updating theme, please reinstall the theme. Let me know if any problem arises.

Yes, the update is working fine. The latest version is 4.3.3. No such issues, may be some problem/breakage during updates.

No, it is not working. I just updated to version 4.3.3 half an hour ago, and the update took my entire site down, including the back-end. I had to FTP in, rename the theme folder to disable it just so I could get into the back-end, and restore the old version of the theme from backup.

I am back to using version 4.2.1, and no one above has said they have successfully installed 4.3.3 — they only got their site working by rolling back to the previous versions.

Please take this new update down until the faulty code is fixed.

I had the same problem, today I tried 2 times to upgrade from 4.3.1 to 4.3.3 with no success.
I was LUCKY, I have a backup and I was able to return to version 4.3.1 using ftp….
It seems that the upgrade process deletes a lot of files and folders needed by the theme…

@davidbarker223, @elvis, @burningbrigid and @torpedo: There was issue in WordPress.org theme repository. They has bad zip in the server. We have just contacted @Otto42, who handles WordPress.org theme repo and have confirmed that it has been fixed. You all can update it now.

@somethingelse: Thanks for the cooperation and we found that your child theme functions.php was old and using depreciated codes, which I removed it and it’s working fine now. So, this is not a theme issue but your child theme issue.
