Dear Sir,
I hoped to move menu bar and logo down a bit, tried different padding css codes but not successful. Second, to remove the blue space in the post slider, do I have to edit all my pictures to fit Width: 1280px Height: 550px? I thought the cropping was done automatically. Lastly I would like to remove the search bar and the archives, I could not find where this option was. Since I am running on local host I have uploaded here with the relevant questions.

I see that you are using Catch Kathmandu Free Theme.
1. Your question about moving the menu down below the logo.
— For this first, you need to disable Header Right sidebar. For this, go to “Appearance => Theme Options => Header Options” and click on “Check to Disable” in Disable Header Right Sidebar and save changes.
— Then you need to create Custom Menu from “Appearance => Menus” and then assign you menu as “Secondary Menu” from “Appearance => Menus => Manage Location”. For instructions on custom menu see this http://catchthemes.com/blog/videos-blog/video-series-creating-wordpress-custom-menus/ and http://catchthemes.com/blog/custom-menus-wordpress-themes/2. Your featured image size in those posts added in slider is smaller then required. If you see the theme instructions page at http://catchthemes.com/theme-instructions/catch-kathmandu/, where you can see the size for Featured Post Slider is Width: 1280px
and Height: 550px. Yes, cropping is done automatically if the image size is larger then this size but how can it crop the image smaller then 1280px width.3. If you don’t want the sidebar and content in homepage, then first check in your reading setting at “Settings => Readings” and make sure you have selected “Your latest posts” and in “Appearance => Theme Options => Homepage Settings => Homepage / Frontpage Settings”, make sure you have not checked in “Enable Latest Posts”.

Thank you for the assistance. I wanted to move both logo and menu down, managed eventually by using firebug. It would be a great feature if the post slider not only cropped (my bad) but also resized the pictures to fit so no blue space is visible.
1. Is it possible to make the post slider less wide, so I can control the size of it?

The Archive and Search appear on each page, screen shot here. I followed your earlier steps, which removed them from home page, but I would like them removed from all my pages if possible.

About the slider image, I already told you. It will only crop if it’s larger but how to make it big when you upload the small images. That is not possible.
If you don’t want sidebar in through out the site then you can go to “Appearance => Theme Options => Layout Options” and then select “No Sidebar” layout.
