Hi,
I’ve just upgraded Catch Box to 4.8 according to update notice but after that, I cannot post new entry, nor edit my posts. Only White screen appeared.
My site is https://chokowalk.sakura.ne.jp/n02/Is it Catch Box’s bug?
December 18, 2018 at 6:07 pm #161771balmerpParticipantI have the same problem.
I have WordPress 5.0.1. My WordPress site is at http://www.waterwayroutes.co.uk/blog
Everything was working until I upgraded Catch Box to 4.8. Since then I cannot edit any posts and I just get a white screen in Gutenberg. I can edit with the classic editor in text mode (if I enable that plugin) but the visual mode for that also gives a white screen.
I have tried disabling all plugins and that doesn’t help.
I have tried deleting the Catch Box theme and reinstalling and that doesn’t help.
I tried changing themes (to Twenty Nineteen) and everything started working normally, even with all plugins re-enabled. When I changed back to the Catch Box theme the editors stopped working again.
I tried on two different computers (both Windows 10) and using Chrome, IE and Firefox and all have the same problem. The same problem occurs using my Android phone and Android tablet too.
All this strongly suggests the problem is with Catch Box 4.8.
Please fix it quickly, or at least post simple instructions about how to go back to the previous Catch Box temporarily.
December 18, 2018 at 6:50 pm #161775SJRParticipantI’m having the same problem. Catch Box was the only update I did today and BOOM — I suddenly can’t add or edit any posts. It’s basically rendered my entire site useless. Please let us know what happened. Is there any way to roll back the update? I’d hate to have to spend hours re-designing with a new theme. I know it’s the theme because I just switched to another theme really quick and suddenly the post editor etc… is working again.
December 18, 2018 at 7:08 pm #161777SJRParticipantAlso wanted to say that I cleared my browser cache and my WordPress cache, and tried it on two separate browsers. This is definitely a Theme issue.
December 18, 2018 at 9:36 pm #161778SJRParticipantHey you guys — I figured out a simple way to rollback your theme version. Go to plugins – click add new – and find a plugin called WP Rollback By Impress.org and install it and activate it. Then I backed up my entire site just in case (paranoid), went to the Theme, clicked details, and a new button appeared on the theme called ROLLBACK. Click that and it will list all the versions you can roll back to. I went to the previous version, clicked rollback again, WordPress reinstalled it, and it’s good to go. I won’t be updating to the new Catch Box until I’m pretty sure they have the kinks worked out for sure. Funny how the previous version of Catch Box is more compatible with the current version of WP than the 4.8.

SapanaDecember 19, 2018 at 3:55 am #161825balmerpParticipantI’ve just installed Catch Box 4.8.1 and that seems to fix the problem. Thank you for fixing it promptly.
I am disappointed I can’t find an easy way to re-install an earlier version of your theme and that’s what upsets me most.
I can accept there will be occasional bugs in software however well it is tested and this seems to be one of those problems.
I can’t accept that you distribute software with no simple way to revert to the previous version if there are problems. That only needs to be available for 7 days after an update as you will have fixed any major problems found within that timescale.
Please assure me that for all future updates there will be an easy way to revert to the previous version in the event of problems like this which is available for 7 days after releasing the update.
December 19, 2018 at 4:03 am #161830SkandhaParticipant@naoko-kaku: You can always revert to the previous version if you backup your theme before updating the theme. When you update the theme using Catch Web Tool’s Updater Module you will find an option to backup your current version so that incase any bugs shows up you can revert back to the previous version. The backed up theme .zip file will be stored in the Media section on your dashboard. Incase of any issue you can download the theme from the link in the media section and upload it again.
Let me know if this helps you out!
Kind Regards,

I find that captions of images back to same format as before Gutenberg.
I may ask as another topic about it.Thank you for your support.
