I need help.

I have updated my wordpress website with simple catch theme 3.2v, everything else on the website is working, however it will not show the homepage and will only show the blog as the homepage? strange

Does anyone have any idea to resolve this.

I have currently had to revert the my previous version show it is up.

Hi @micky1982,

Just checked your site, seems you have made a lot of customization and modified theme’s core files. Changing the theme’s core files will cause lost all modification during theme updates. This is recommended to use child theme for customization.
You’ll need to do all the changes you’ve done in your current working theme version. I recommend you to create child theme. You can find more on creating child theme HERE.

Thanks for your reply, yes I tried the child theme but didn’t work, so reverted all files back, then did a comparison of files using winmerge to compare file with the old wordpress core file to the new updated one.

I managed to do this ok and uploaded the file, everything was ok and was working as it should but the homepage wasn’t showing, each time I clicked on the logo for the homepage it kept showing the blog instead of the homepage, so i reverted back to the 2.6 version.

I currently have 2 simple catch versions on my server with the new 3.2 update under simplecatchtest, but I can’t find the reason to why the homepage won’t show.

I want to upgrade to simple catch pro but don’t want to if I can’t resolve the homepage issue.

Do you have any ideas to why this might be?

I have switch from 2.6 version to put 3.2 version on the website currently,

So now you can see that the blog shows as the homepage and the homepage doesn’t show at all.

Hi @micky1982,

In your theme, there is frontpage set to latest post, you have to change it to static homepage. Go to “Dashboard=> Appearance=> Customize=> Static Front Page” and select A static display then select page you want to display as Home page in Front Page and page you want to display blog posts in Post Page then click same.

Sorry for the confusion, by homepage I mean the page you want to display as your site’s front page.
