Hello,
My site is http://www.shass.co.uk/blog,
I was just wondering how I could get rid of the sidebar from my posts but just keep it on the homepage, about me and contact pages?
Please get back to me ASAP
Thank you,Ayisids
February 2, 2014 at 9:52 pm #19899AyisidsMemberAlso, is there a way of having the author, date and comments at the end of the post above the comments box rather than below the heading?
February 3, 2014 at 12:02 am #19906SakinKeymaster@Ayisids: First thanks for using Simple Catch Free theme. I see that you have remove “Theme: Simple Catch” from your footer. This is not allowed in free version and this is only recognition that we receive for providing free theme and free support. So, please add it back.
For now sidebar: Just go to “Appearance => Theme Options => Default Layout” and choose “No Sidebar, Full Width”. This will remove your sidebar from overall site. Then you can edit your pages where you want sidebar. Then when you edit page, you will see “Select Sidebar Layout” box from there you can choose “Right sidebar”.
To change the position of author, date and comments in your post. You need to build Child Theme and then create functions.php file and then copy simplecatch_loop() from simplecatch_functions.php file to your child theme functions.php file and edit there.
March 23, 2014 at 10:22 am #22327amycooke999MemberHello,
I can not see any sidebar on the right or left. For the Options, Layout, I chose Content on the Left but everything is in the middle. There is no sidebar on the side. All I see is the Main Sidebar, which is not on the side – it’s in the middle under the last post.
I also tried like you said above, No Sidebar Full Width and hoped to see a right or left sidebar option when I edit a page, but I did not see one.
When editing a page, there are 5 options, and none of them have a sidebar on the right or left. The options are: Blog Template, Default Template, Disable Sidebar Template, Full Width Disable Sidebar Template, and One-column, no Sidebar.
Thanks for any help!
March 23, 2014 at 9:55 pm #22362SakinKeymaster@amycooke999: Can you post in your site URL? There is layout Options in “Appearance => Theme Options => Layout Options”, where you can choose “Right sidebar”. This will be for overall site. But if you want different layout in specific page/post then you can choose on that particular page/post as “Right Sidebar”.
Then go to “Appearance => Widgets” and add widgets in your sidebar.
March 23, 2014 at 11:01 pm #22374amycooke999MemberHi Sakin,
Here is my site: http://ow.ly/uSc2Z
I am using Catch Box Free.
There are more problems. When I change the main sidebar widget, then do Visit Site – I see the change, but then when I go back to Widgets, the old widget is back in there and the new one is gone.
If I put nothing in the main sidebar widget and then I Visit Site, I see it has added 2 widgets – Archives and Meta which I did not add. When I go back to widgets, Archives and Meta are not in any sidebars.
As you can see, none of my sidebars show on the side – they show below the content.
There is no option to choose a sidebar in Edit Post:

There is no option to choose a sidebar in Edit Page either:

Here is Theme Options, Default Layout – I have tried all 3 choices and some make the main sidebar (below the content) disappear but otherwise they do nothing – I have never seen a column or sidebar on the right or left:

I have the Slider disabled.
Thanks,
AmyMarch 24, 2014 at 12:30 am #22382SakinKeymaster@amycooke999: Oh you have posted in Wrong forum that is why I got confused. You are using Catch Box theme and posted your question in Simple Catch Theme forum. In catch box theme, you can change the layout only from “Appearance => Theme Options => Default Layout”
I see that you have selected “Content on right” and added text widget in “Main Sidebar” and Category Widget, Calendar Widget and Page widgets in Footer Area One, two and three from “Appearance => Widgets”.
The widgets that you add in Footer Area One, two and three will show in Footer. But the widgets you add in Main Sidebar will how is content sidebar. Since you have selected “Content on right”, your sidebar is showing in left and content on right and all footer widget at bottom http://dumbandfunny.com/
March 24, 2014 at 12:50 am #22385amycooke999MemberHi Sakin,
I’m sorry for posting in the wrong forum. I started in the Catch Box Free forum, then did a search on “sidebar” and this is what came up.
Yes I picked “Content on the Right” but when you visit my site you see that the Content is not on the Right, and the Sidebar is not on the Left. The Sidebar is in the middle at the bottom of the posts.

Here is my site again:
Thanks,

March 24, 2014 at 1:16 am #22389SakinKeymaster@amycooke999: I check in your site and sidebar is showing in Left. I also check in your screenshot where you left sidebar has moved below the content. As you are viewing your site in smaller screen size. This is responsive theme and it will change as per the screensize. So, when you are viewing the site from device or browser size below 961px. It will make the content full width and push the sidebar below:
See in the large screensize screenshot: https://www.diigo.com/item/image/4mqpj/nu41
See in the small screensize screenshot: https://www.diigo.com/item/image/4mqpj/ypa3March 24, 2014 at 1:38 am #22391amycooke999MemberOH!!! That is very helpful and interesting, thank you!
I was viewing the website on my desktop computer with a 15 inch screen, using Firefox, so I thought I was viewing it on a large screen.
After reading your note though, I set Firefox to Maximum and now I can see the change in the format!
Thanks!!!
I am still having trouble with the widgets though.
Here is what I just did:
I had a text widget in the main sidebar.
I went into Widgets, and I opened the main sidebar text widget and clicked Delete.
I left the main sidebar widget empty.
I clicked Visit Site.
The main sidebar was showing Archives and Meta. (They came up by themselves – I did not add them)
I went back into Widgets.
In the main sidebar, my old text widget was back in there!
I clicked Visit Site.
In the main sidebar, I can still see Archives and Meta! (and not the text widget)Thanks,
AmyMarch 24, 2014 at 6:59 am #22405SakinKeymaster@amycooke999: If you have empty sidebar then it will show Archives and Meta widgets by default. To remove the sidebar in Catch Box Free Theme, you need to select “One-column, no sidebar” from “Appearance => Theme Options => Default Layout”.
March 24, 2014 at 7:08 am #22407amycooke999MemberOh! OK thanks Sakin! Have a good night!
