Hello! I am just finishing up a class on wp.org and wanted to use the Catch Everest theme to create a children’s author’s website similar to the site http://www.marylosure.com which also uses the Catch Everest theme, but when I try to upload a header it comes out like this: http://www.blog.carolyncarmody.com. I also wanted to get the three columns off the front page but do not see an option to do that.
Thanks
August 28, 2015 at 9:58 am #65472SakinKeymaster@ccarmody: I check in your site and your header image has issue with height and width. Try uploading new image. But your reference site is not using Header Image, it’s adding header background by uploading image from “Media => Add New” and then adding that image as background using custom css.
So, you can also upload image from “Media => Add New”. Then add in your image url in the following css and then add it in in “Appearance => Theme Options => Custom CSS” like below:
#hgroup-wrap { background: transparent url("add in your image url here") repeat-x scroll 0 0; text-align: left; }
For example:
#hgroup-wrap { background: transparent url("http://blog.carolyncarmody.com/wp-content/themes/catch-everest/images/slider2.jpg") repeat-x scroll 0 0; text-align: left; }

Then I took out the CSS and got this.August 28, 2015 at 9:24 pm #65505ccarmodyParticipantSorry, Here is how the sit looks with the CSS added http://blog.carolyncarmody.com/
August 29, 2015 at 5:37 am #65532ccarmodyParticipantHello Sakin,
I uploaded a smaller image and used the CSS you provided, but the header does not go across the page.
I was wondering if I did something wrong or if this is the way the header on this theme is supposed to be. I wanted it to look somewhat like the header on this page. http://www.gonantucket.wordpress.com.
I was wondering if there might be another Catch theme you would recommend if this one will not work.
Thank you for your time and I hope to hear from you.
August 29, 2015 at 5:44 am #65533ccarmodyParticipantI’m sorry. Here is the link to the website with the smaller image and the CSS.
August 29, 2015 at 9:17 am #65535SakinKeymaster@ccarmody: To add header image like the reference site, you can go to “Appearance => Header” and upload the header image with max width: 1140px. If you want similar theme to that either use “Catch Evolution” http://catchthemes.com/themes/catch-evolution/ theme or “Catch Box” http://catchthemes.com/themes/catch-box/ theme
September 2, 2015 at 1:52 am #65863ccarmodyParticipantSakin. Thank you for your previous answer. I did what you said and it worked! Thank you so much. My name and children’s author are below the header and I was going to ask if there was a way to get that either above the header or on top of it–but then looked at Catch Evolution and it looks like it might be a much better fit. Was wondering if there is a way to switch my site on Create Everest to the Catch Evolution theme or would I have to start all over and do everything from the beginning?
Thanks
September 2, 2015 at 10:22 am #65877SakinKeymaster@ccarmody: The option to move site title and tagline above the header image is there only in Catch Everest Pro version. For, more information about additional features in pro version, check out theme instructions page at http://catchthemes.com/theme-instructions/catch-evolution-pro/
Yes, you can switch over to Catch Everest to Catch Evolution. You content and all will be safe. Just that you need to configure settings in Catch Evolution Theme options panel. For catch evolution theme options, you can check out http://catchthemes.com/theme-instructions/catch-evolution-pro/
September 3, 2015 at 9:49 pm #66004ccarmodyParticipantHello Sakin,
I would like to know if you switch over to another theme,, if your site looks like it did on the previous site and also if it is possible to try out a pro site before you purchase it.
Thanks for your time!
September 3, 2015 at 10:06 pm #66008SakinKeymaster@ccarmody: Sorry there is no try out for premium themes. That is why we have free version of all our themes. So, you can try our free version and then check in instructions of pro version for additional features http://catchthemes.com/theme-instructions/
September 5, 2015 at 12:27 am #66100ccarmodyParticipantHi Sakin,
Thanks for your previous reply. I was thinking of upgrading to Catch Everest Pro Catch Evolution Pro but wanted to know if you could tell me how to access a list of questions and answers about common things to do on a specific pro theme that I had seen before but can’t find now?
Thanks for your time!
September 5, 2015 at 5:31 am #66107ccarmodyParticipantHi Sakin–
I wanted to clarify my previous post. When I checked out the Catch Everest Pro and Catch Evolution Pro theme pages, I remember seeing a list of things and how to do things on those sites (or at least one of them) and wanted to see if you could tell me how to access that info again. For instance–if one of the items on the list was To Upload a Header– it would tell you how to do it right there.
Thanks for your time.
September 5, 2015 at 9:12 am #66113SakinKeymaster@ccarmody: You can see the list of features of Catch Everest Pro at http://catchthemes.com/theme-instructions/catch-everest-pro/ and Catch Evolution Pro at http://catchthemes.com/theme-instructions/catch-evolution-pro/
For themes within our shop, if you contact our sales. You can exchange within a week.
September 6, 2015 at 1:55 am #66133ccarmodyParticipantThanks, Sakin! It was right in front of me!
Have a great weekend!
September 11, 2015 at 7:33 am #66684polyannaMemberHi Sakin,
Thanks for all your previous replies.
I wondered if I could ask a couple more questions regarding themes:
For how many years can I use a pro theme once I have purchased it? Do I have to pay again if there is an upgrade?September 11, 2015 at 8:18 am #66685polyannaMemberJust a couple more questions if you don’t mind–I forgot to ask previously, if I buy a theme, but decide after a while–more than the week you mentioned above—that I would prefer another Catch theme, may I exchange it and pay the difference or be reimbursed if the new theme I want to install is less expensive than the original theme I purchased?
Also, I was wondering if you could explain how the layout options in theme options for the Catch Everest theme work. I want to get the sidebar for the posts off the The Nantucket Lightship Basket Mystery page but don’t know how to do it.
http://blog.carolyncarmody.com/
Thanks for all your time answering my questions!September 12, 2015 at 11:00 pm #66740SakinKeymaster@polyanna: Once you purchase the theme, you can download theme for 1 year from your account at http://catchthemes.com/my-account. After you download it you can upload it in your site and update it for 1 year. So for update till 1 year, you don’t have to pay. Then after a year, you can either re-purchase it and update the theme or disable theme update and use it.
Yes, if that is within a week, you can exchange with the theme. But the theme has to be from Catch Themes.
Layout option, you can change it from “Appearance = Theme Options => Layout Options”, which will change layout for your overall site. But if you want to change only for particular page/post then you need to edit that post/page and edit it from “Catcheverest Options” metabox below editor.
September 13, 2015 at 12:43 am #66741polyannaMemberThanks for your reply.
Re: changing page/post as per your answer above, I do not see Catcheverest Options below the editor –Would that be found in the Pro version and not the free theme I’m using now?
September 13, 2015 at 2:03 am #66742polyannaMemberHi Sakin,
I had another question if you don’t mind.I have the free version of Catch Everest uploaded now and would like to try out the free version of Catch Evolution briefly to see how it works. I was wondering if I did this, if the content I have on the Catch Everest theme would transfer to the Catch Evolution theme and then transfer back to the Catch Everest theme if I wanted to do that.
