    Hi,

    My ‘Featured Post Slider’ doesn’t show up on my homepage. I followed all the directions on how to feature specific posts…

    Theme Options> Featured Post Slider> Enable Homepage > Inserted Post IDs + Featured Images

    But, it still doesn’t show up after saving and refreshing. For some reason it does show when I choose  ‘Enable Entire Site’ for the ‘Featured Post Slider.’ Please refer to: nate1design.com.  I only want it on my homepage.

    Please help.

    Thanks!

    @rawb_in: Yes, I am aware of this issue and we have also send patch update to WordPress.org but they haven’t made it live yet. So, you cannot update at this time automatically. But there is trick to do it manual update.

    Just activate any default theme like Twenty Twelve Theme.
    Then delete the theme Catch Everest.
    Then you can download the theme from http://wordpress.org/extend/themes/download/catch-everest.0.1.5.1.zip
    Then you can manually install theme through “Appearance => Themes => Install Themes”. Click on Upload and then upload the zip file you have downloaded and activate it.
    After this you can change the settings.

    Note: You don’t have to worry what will happen to data after deleting the theme. It will not be deleted. It will be restored once you active the uploaded theme.

    Hi Sakin,

    Thanks for the help. I deleted the theme and uploaded the zip file, but it’s still not showing on the homepage. Also, do you know how to make the footer widgets on only the homepage?

    Thanks

    By any chance do you have the zip file for Catch Everest before the recent update? It was working fine with the past Catch Everest.  Please let me know. Thanks!

    You can download from here http://wordpress.org/extend/themes/catch-everest/developers/ . You will see the list of version files.

    Thanks Sakin! It worked.

    Do you know how I can post the footer only on my homepage?  I have three widgets that I just want to show on the homepage, not all the pages.

    Hello yesterday you gave me advice how to restore the core settings to all the core files edited by updating the theme – http://catchthemes.com/topic/slider-not-working/ . Np but it is the latest version so will it be good if i use the way explained here – to activate another theme, uninstall Catch Everest, and then reinstall it manual ?

    @rawb_in: For Catch Everest Free theme footer widgets, you need to build child theme and just copy footer.php from Catch Everest theme to your child theme and the replace the code
    get_sidebar( 'footer' );
    with the following:
    if ( is_front_page() || is_home() ) : get_sidebar( 'footer' ); endif;

    @Stefing: Yes you can active default theme file twenty thirteen and then delete Catch Everest and then reinstall it.

    @Stefing: I am not talking about the file. I am talking about the theme that you will have in “Appearance => Themes” from your WordPress Dashboard. I mean change the theme.
