Hello all,

I’m using Catch Base Pro and have the featured content set to “Featured Page Content”. For the first column I have my blog page selected but all I get is the page name and then an empty space – you can see it here: http://bashstreet.co.uk/wordpress/

I’m sure I had this working before but it seems to not be picking up the latest blog post. I am running the latest theme (3.7) along with the latest version of wordpress.

Any help would be great!

@bashstreet: Thank you for using Catch Base Pro theme. The issue is because you are using static front page and blog page is set to Newsletter page. So for displaying blog list in homepage instead, go to Dashboard=> Appearance=> Customize=> Static Front Page and select Your latest posts option in Front Page Displays.

Thanks for your reply. I’m not sure if that’s quite it. I want a static home page but the featured content header is where I need the latest blog post summary to appear. If you have a look at http://bashstreet.co.uk/wordpress/ you see the grey featured bar at the top of the site? The first column is supposed to be where the latest blog post (summary) should appear, can you offer any suggestions?

I checked your site and the Featured Content is displaying fine. Right now its displaying 3 Page Contents (Newsletter, CLIFFHANGER! – a real life silent movie show, Tour List 2016).
However, if you want Posts to be displayed instead of Pages, please select Featured Post Content in Featured Content Type and choose the desired Posts ID.

Thanks again for replying. I have a feeling this may not be possible without some coding.

I would like the first column (the one that currently says Newsletter) to show an excerpt from the latest blog post, and then the other two columns as they are (pulling excerpts from the two pages they are linked to in the customize screen).

I can see the featured content section is being built from the catchbase-featured-content.php file. Can you offer any code to make this work? I don’t need to be able to edit it from the customise screen. Or if you can think of any other ways to achieve this, I would be very happy. Again, the solution doesn’t need to be tidy in the backend, so if it’s just a bit of code to go into catchbase-featured-content.php, I’m good with that.

@bashstreet: For this you can achieve it with Custom Featured Content where you put the post content in the first column and link to the very post. And then content of the pages in the remaining two with its link.
If you want to do it as mentioned above, I recommend you to hire a customizer.
