    I can not get the read more function to work at all. Is there a secret?

    @bajaharry : Login to your WordPress Admin panel. Go to Appearance => Customize => Theme Options => Excerpt/More tag settings. Under More Tag Text input the desired text and under Excerpt length(words) : set number of words.

    I did that, it still doesn’t work. Maybe I’m not understanding the Read More tag. I have a long paragraph that I want to insert the Read More tag into. I place my cursor where I want the Read More to appear and click on the Read More button. I get a line across the page that states more. However when I preview the page the Read More doesn’t show. The whole paragraph shows.

    @bajaharry : Can you please post in your site URL and provide the link of the page where you are unable to display Read More.

    @bajaharry : You cannot add read more on a single post. The read more is supposed to work on Blog and Archive pages. If you would like to display it on single post, you will need to hire a customizer and get your site customized. Let me know if you have any further issues.
