    Hello,

I’d like to customize the 404.php file. I copied the file to my child theme folder and made my updates, but it isn’t showing them. It’s still showing the 404.php from the parent theme. How can I get my website to use the 404.php in the child theme instead of the parent theme?

@ikh1 : Please download the child theme from the following link.
https://catchthemes.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/adventurous-pro-child1.zip Copy the 404.php file from your parent theme to your child theme folder and make your changes. Then activate the child theme from your dashboard. Let me know if you need further assistance.

    Regards,

We downloaded the child theme from your website months ago and have made many customizations to it. All our child theme customizations have worked except this one. I did copy the 404.php to the child theme and our site has always been set to use the child theme from the dashboard. However, for the 404.php it isn’t using the one in the child theme it is using the one in the parent theme. How can I get the site to use the one which is in the child theme instead?

@ikh1 : Please try creating the 404.php file again. If you have created the 404.php file on your child theme it will use that file instead of the 404.php from parent theme. You don’t need to do anything more to use the file from child theme. Please check again and let me know if you need further assistance.
