Hello,
After just installing this beautiful theme and creating also a child theme for it…I’ve noticed a couple problems that I’ve never seen before.
1. First, there was an issue suddenly with all images on my site not appearing on the ‘front-end’. This seems to just happen suddenly not long after having the theme activated for the first time. Not sure what happened. My first concern was all the outdated plugins…so I deactivated all plugins and the problem didn’t go away. Then I just restored my whole home database files and that fixed it. However I was testing some things by switching from a previously installed theme and back to gridalicious and when I switch back to the theme the images again were not appearing on the front-end. I clicked ‘reset all theme settings’ in the cusomize tab and the problem went away. It concerns me though. I don’t want to encounter this problem again when I have my whole site formatted for this new theme later. I’m a little suspicious there is something going on with this theme?
2. The other thing I noticed that just started happening after installing gridalicious is in the ‘bookmarking tabs’…the ones at the top of the screen that show the title of each website that is opened in a window….usually it shows my wordpress site title: and tagline (INNER FIRE: jUST keep the fire burning). But now it is only showing my title (INNER FIRE). I don’t like that! I want it back the way it was!
Please help!
December 14, 2015 at 2:42 pm #81128Invisible CatParticipantWell hours and hours and hours after digging around online I have not found a solution to the problem of not having the titles appearing right in the browser tab until I found this article: http://bavotasan.com/2008/how-to-modify-your-wordpress-title-tag-for-search-engine-optimization/
It seems that the ‘header’ php needed a certain line of coding that included a <title> tag of which I couldn’t find by default in the header. The other thing I found was that my ‘yoast seo’ plugin was doing some strange things to the titles. The information in the above article fixed this whole problem for me. It is a pleasing solution. However I still wonder why the problem happened in the first place considering it didn’t seem to happen previously in other catch themes I used with yoast seo.
As for the earlier issue of the images not showing. It hasn’t happened since I restored my website and uninstalled all the outdated plugins. I’m wondering too if there was possibly something having to do with the new WP 4.4…the theme…or if anyone knows about this problem?

1. That should not happen. If it happens again, please let us know. Also, please post in your site url so that we can check it.
2. That glitch should go away with new update scheduled soon.
December 14, 2015 at 3:46 pm #81130Invisible CatParticipantHello Pratik,
my site URL is http://www.myinnerfire.net
Are you speaking to both the problem of the ‘photos not rendering’ and the ‘titles appearing strange in the browser tabs?
With the later issue…i’m finding that the plugin ‘wp super cache’ is changing the different titles of my pages in strange ways in the browser tab. First it was ‘just the title and no tagline’….and just now it’s the title appearing twice on some pages. I’ve been doing a lot of research about this and it seems like a common problem but I have not found a be all end all solution yet. Even the code snippet I added to the head earlier…the cache plugin after I activated again is again changing the titles.
Thanks for all your support!
December 14, 2015 at 3:54 pm #81131Invisible CatParticipant*An update about the glitchy issue of photos not rendering on the front end. About an hour ago I visited my site (www.myinnerfire.net) and the about 2/3 of the featured images of the posts were not showing. I just checked back and they randomly appeared again. ???
One more thing about the Gridalicious theme. As it doesn’t include ‘webmaster tools’ I have been following the advise to use the ‘catch webtools’ plugin. It seems to be not upgraded for wp 4.4. Can I anticipate this plugin updating soon?
December 14, 2015 at 3:58 pm #81132PratikParticipantHi @InvisibleFlame,
Now when I check your site, I always get “INNER FIRE | just keep the fire burning” as the page title. The problem you describe mainly looks like a cache problem. You can check the link: http://anonymouse.org/cgi-bin/anon-www.cgi/http://www.myinnerfire.net/ to see a cache free version of your site. However, this will not clear server caches.About Catch Web Tools, it should work fine with WordPress version 4.4. We will push an update for this too soon.
December 14, 2015 at 4:00 pm #81133Invisible CatParticipant**Darn! Earlier when I was speaking about the ‘titles in the browser tab’. I meant to say that ‘yoast seo’ plugin was the one seeming to give me heck not ‘wp super cache’. My head is spinning from all the plugins and issues I’ve been having. I don’t want to get rid of this plugin. I am wondering if there is something involving the theme or a code that I can prevent Yoast from messing up my titles.

That is true that the title appears correctly through most of the site. But have a look at when you click on ‘about’ and ‘contact’ pages. For me I see in the tab “Contact/INNER FIREINNER FIRE”.
December 14, 2015 at 4:14 pm #81135Invisible CatParticipantThe way it should look is when it is on the home page it reads site name/tagline. And when it is on a static page that has a title or when on a post it reads “post title/site name”. That is what the code that I placed in the head does.
However yoast seo seems to be arranging the titles in funny ways. On the about page I get “about/INNER FIREINNER FIRE” on the ‘quotes’ page it shows “Quotes Archives/INNER FIREINNER FIRE” (The ‘archives’ shouldn’t be there because it is not included in the title of that page) And in blog posts I get “*post title/ INNER FIREINNER FIRE” when it should be “post title/INNER FIRE”
December 14, 2015 at 4:22 pm #81136PratikParticipantWe are looking into this and will update you soon.
December 14, 2015 at 4:32 pm #81137Invisible CatParticipantThank you! I just found out why the ‘yoast plugin’ is adding unwanted words to my meta titles. With that plugin you have to edit the meta data manually for each page and each post. At the bottom of each screen of each page and post in the editor is a section for editing that data. If left by default…it ads what it thinks is search engine optimal. This video explains that issue: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nG3fxLW2BnY
This may have nothing to do with ‘theme’. But I just want to clarify what I have found out in on that front.
December 14, 2015 at 4:41 pm #81138PratikParticipantGreat, I hope this clears out the issues. Let me know if there is anything else.
Regards,
