    Hi Sakin,

I copied the whole text in the linked file, and replaced the code in the file catcheverest-functions.php, and updated the file. But it does not work.

    Did I anything wrong?

    Best regards

    Daniel

    Hi @Sakin and all others,

I am using the Catch responsive theme and have the same problem…..

What can I do in my theme ?

I would also prefer to have the text “half-in-the-picture” as it is on the preview from the everest theme, but I can’t find a possibility to arrange it……

    Thx for your help !

    Hi Sakin,

    thanks for your quick reply.

I copied the code in the file “catcheverest-functions.php”.

But this seems not to solve the problem, the featured slider image still directs to the error page.

@subper: Just add the following CSS in “Custom CSS” box in your Theme Options panel to hide the text in Featured Post Slider
    #main-slider .entry-container { display: none; }

@Dane30 and @Dan Davies: Thanks for reporting. I have found the issue and submitted the update to WordPress.org and they will make it available soon.

But for now: You can go to “Appearance => Editor” and then click on “catcheverest-functions.php” from right sidebar of Editor. Then the editor will option the file catcheverest-fucntions.php file. Then copy the code from this file http://themes.svn.wordpress.org/catch-everest/0.1.2.2/inc/catcheverest-functions.php and paste there and click on Update File button.

If you don’t feel confident about making changes then send email to at support[at]catchthemes[dot]com with your WordPress site access and I will do that for you.

@hjnelson: You need to upload the image of width 1140px and height 450px and set it as featured image in the post. This will make it same as the demo page.

See theme instruction of all the details http://catchthemes.com/theme-instructions/catch-everest/

@allisonh: There is no option to add image under the Menu bar. But yes you can add the Featured Post Slider under the Menu bar. See the Theme Instruction http://catchthemes.com/theme-instructions/simple-catch/ for instruction on adding Featured Post Slider.

For adding music you might need to search in WordPress Plugins in http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/

@robx: In Simple Catch Free theme you can exclude the Slider post only in Frontpage/Homepage. Through Appearance => Theme Options => Featured Post Slider => Add Slider Options. Just check Exclude Slider post from Home page posts and save.

@tinydream: Catch Everest Theme don’t have Featured Image Slider option. It only have Featured Post slider. So the slider has to be post. Sorry for the limitation.

@skweekah: You just need to add the Post ID not the whole link. For example: If you want the post http://www.cityofcanterbury.nsw.gov.au/wordpress/?p=74 in your Featured Post Slider. Then you need to add only 74 in the Featured Slider Post #1 field.

    Hi Sakin,

Im having a similar problem too. Ive added a post | http://www.cityofcanterbury.nsw.gov.au/wordpress/?p=74

but when I paste it into Featured Slider Post #1

etc etc and save, it states ‘option saved’ but the links arent retained when I go back into the featured post slider options area.

    1. I have added a post. 2. Ive included a featured image with correct dimensions. 3. I use the post url with id. But, the slider wont update.

Im assuming I have correct write permissions etc on wordpress and theme files.

Can you help me out? Dummy site is at http://www.cityofcanterbury.nsw.gov.au/wordpress/

    Thanks,
    Jason

@wul: Your site looks great. Yes, we as a team in Catch Themes work in both design and development.

I will check in more details about the user guide.

You have enable Featured Post Slider for Entire Site. Why don’t you select only for the Homepage in Slider Options. This will make the slider show only in the homepage and your visitor will not have to scroll down to see the picture.

Yes, that a lot for your appreciation. We are really happy with all our theme and trying our best to give you all more and more beautiful themes.

To make you clear Catch Everest Theme uses Featured Post Slider. This slider is created to highlight your post in the slider. Post means your article. So, you need to add in the ID’s of the post for which you want to highlight as the slider. After you add in the Post ID. The slider will take the featured image of the post, then title and excerpt. So, it is very necessary to add Featured Image in the respective post.

Post IDs are shown in the address bar when you edit or add new post. But if you still cannot find the post ID. Then we have developed Catch IDs and install it. It will show the post ID in the post http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/catch-ids/

To add Featured Image in the post see this: http://en.support.wordpress.com/featured-images/#setting-a-featured-image
