Hi,
I am trying to setup a bilingual (French/English) personal blog with Catch Box Pro Child theme and WPML. I have a few strings that do not translate.
I am trying to: Make every strings of text appear in the same language as the post (either French or English). Except for the menu language switcher where I want the other language appear with the name of the language in the other language.
Link to a page where the issue can be seen: http://livingwithibc.com/ .
I expected to see:
1) “Search” in the search bar on the top right corner;
2) “Continue Reading ->” at the end of the excerpts on the home page;
3) “All rights reserved” in the footer at the very bottom of the page.
Instead, I got:
1) It appears in French as “Rechercher”;
2) It appears in French as “Continuer la lecture ->”;
3) It appears in French as “Tous droits réservés”.
More info about #1 and #2 : I translated it in WPML -> String Translations but it changes nothing.
Search Text Settings : I noticed that if I write it in French (Rechercher), it shows in French in both languages. If it is written Search, it shows up in English on the French website and in French in the English website… Guess it means it is translated somewhere…
I contacted WPML and this is their last answer :
“Hi Annie,
1.- I have escalated this ticket to our compatibility team. We will get back to you as soon as we have an answer.
Thanks for your patience!
2.- I encourage you to invite the theme authors to our Go-Global Program: https://wpml.org/documentation/theme-compatibility/go-global-program/
Regards,
Carlos”
I am really disappointed because on your site it is written that the theme is WMPL-ready. Do you have any idea about what does not work? I hope you will be able to help because I like the theme. If nobody can find a solution, I will have to find another theme somewhere else…
