talkleftParticipant
Skandha,
Under your themes section, you have a section called “Gutenberg” which is for Gutenberg-compatible themes. Since Catch Base Pro is not listed (that I observed), I assumed it is not compatible with Gutenberg. On my wordpress dashboard, I have options for classic editor and Gutenberg. So is Catch Base Pro compatible with Gutenberg even though you don’t say so under the “Gutenberg” section of your website?talkleftParticipantSorry, never mind. It was Adblocker that was blocking the buttons on Firefox. I realized it when I used Chrome and saw the buttons were there. You can delete this thread.
talkleftParticipantThe only thing that worked was disabling jetpack. Jetpack had some other features I liked so is there any other way to stop it from putting the widgets in the footer? Thanks.
talkleftParticipantThank you, Sakin, I knew you could help me fix it! Both of your last suggestions worked. On my child theme of Catch Base Pro, which I have activated now, I deleted my image as the header and made it the logo and added your css. It looks just like I want.
I also finally figured out my other issue (with the “read more” not showing.) It was because I had entered the text as “read more…” When I removed the dots and made it just “read more”, it shows up on the home page with the link, as I wanted.
Again, thank you so much.
talkleftParticipantThank you Sakin.
I changed the secondary menu setting to “select” as you suggested and the space is still there. Do you have another suggestion?
I also can’t seem to fix the excerpt problem on the home page. The “read more” link does not show up, no matter what I set the excerpt length to.
I was able to fix the favicon issue by saving it as a jpg rather than an ico and uploading it
Thanks again.
talkleftParticipantI have the primary menu set to disabled. I have the secondary menu set to “empty”, meaning it has no content. Would disabling the secondary menu solve the problem of too much space between the header and the start of the content? How would I do that? I’ve read through the theme instructions and support threads here and on wordpress and haven’t found a solution. When I switch appearance to Catch Box Pro, I don’t have this problem.
Also, for a fix for the “read more” not showing on post excerpts on the front page, would disabling the excerpt feature solve that? I would like the posts on the front page to contain the material up to the “read more”, and to show the “read more.” It works fine on Catch Box Pro, but not Catch Base Pro. How can I correct this?
Thanks.
talkleftParticipantProblem #2 is solved, I uploaded a larger header graphic and it stretches across the site now.
Problem #1 is still an issue. There’s too much space between the bottom of the header and the start of the content.
Also, the “read more” isn’t showing on entries on the home page. It did in Catch Box Pro and I can’t figure out how to make it show on the Catch Base Pro home page. I’d like people to know that the excerpt they are seeing isn’t the whole post.
Thanks again.
talkleftParticipantHi Sakin, I went ahead and purchased Catch Base Pro. I have two questions will start a new thread for. Happy Holidays.
talkleftParticipantThank you Sakin. I downloaded the Catch Base free version and checked it out and it looks good. But since you are going to be keeping Catch Box Pro current, I think I’ll stay with it for the present.
talkleftParticipantThank you Sakin, I’m good now. I appreciate your help.
talkleftParticipantOk, I did that and it fixes the problem. Thank you so much. (It’s still a little cramped looking but I’m very grateful for the fix.)
Here’s what the fix looks like:

Again, I appreciate the help. By the way, the tags on the top of the Catch Forums comment box are perfect, but I guess that a BBpress thing that won’t work in the theme itself.
talkleftParticipantI just changed the settings so you can see the comment box on the first entry, here
If for any reason that doesn’t work, here’s a screengrab

Yes, I’m using a plugin called Basic Quicktags. I’ve used it on several sites. Here is a screengrab of it displayed correctly when using another theme:

I don’t think the word “comment” is needed at all, so if it’s easier to provide code for deleting it rather than moving it, that would be just as good (although the word “comment” appears to be inside it’s own little box so both would have to be deleted.)
Thank you again for your help.
If CBPro’s “comment” can’t be moved up, can it be deleted?
talkleftParticipantWow, thanks. I removed the custom css and deactivated jetpack’s mobile device feature and it’s all fixed. Much appreciated!
