I am a pretty basic user. I’ve just learned that if I update my theme I may lose my customizations since I did not create a child theme. Is it too late? I have Version 2 installed.

@sheilalowe: Do you mean theme customization or customizer settings? Customizer settings are retained on theme updates, you can update the theme without losing any settings. But if you have done some customization to the theme, all of them will be lost during update. That is where child theme comes in handy. You can find more on creating child theme HERE.

I don’t know enough to answer whether I mean theme customization or customizer settings. the site is http://www.claudiaroseseries.com
Is it too late to create a child theme for this site?

@sheilalowe: I checked your site and seems you don’t have made more changes to the theme so I guess you can use the child theme and if you do lose some settings, you can change it right away from the customizer and set the options so it displays as now.
Let me know if any problem.

thank you. I’d like to make sure and keep those two stock photos that came with it in the slider.
I am suddenly getting this error and don’t know why:
Warning: Creating default object from empty value in /home/claudiar/public_html/SheilaLoweBooks/wp-content/themes/catch-responsive-pro/inc/customizer-includes/catchresponsive-customizer.php on line 110

@sheilalowe: Selecting Demo Slider in customizer will display default images for slider. Have you modified anything due to which you are getting them error? The theme is working fine on our server. Let me know further.

I just tried updating Catch Responsive Pro on http://www.claudiaroseseries.com and got this message:

“An error occurred while updating Catch Responsive Pro: Update package not available.”

@sheilalowe: You are getting the error message because Pro themes cannot be updated directly like that as Free theme. You’ll need to do it manually. Please use Catch Updater module of Catch Web Tools plugin. Please check the video in the link below.

I never received a subscription renewal notice, but I have just paid the fee and received a confirmation from PayPal and from your website. But when I click on the link to download the update for Catch Responsive Pro, it just takes me back to the pay page. This is getting really frustrating!

I have to admit after paying to download the PRO theme and to find out you cannot do a simple theme update in WordPress due to some technical glitch you guys have, I’m EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED. Extra work for me because I bought your theme and because you guys don’t have your act together. #nothappy
