Hi Sakin, I’m very interested to translate Catch Everest to Spanish Language, could you say me how i do it ??
March 20, 2013 at 1:09 am #5445SakinKeymaster@batmovil69: Thanks for showing interest to help us in translating Catch Everest theme in Spanish language.
Our theme Catch Everest is translation ready which mean we have catch catcheverest.pot file ready. Now you can just use the software http://poedit.net/ and add in your language .mo and .po file. See this for tutorial http://wp.tutsplus.com/tutorials/theme-development/translating-your-theme/
March 20, 2013 at 2:07 am #5456batmovil69ParticipantThanks to you Sakin, I have seen the tutorial and I will try to do it. This is the first time I do this, I hope it will not so complicated … 😀
One question more, how can I check if the translate works fine with theme??
March 20, 2013 at 5:30 am #5470batmovil69ParticipantHi @Sakin , I have made the translation into Spanish as you indicated me in the tutorial, I have generated the es-ES.mo and es-ES.po but not to do with them, because I get the theme untranslated both frontend and in the backend.
I uploaded the files to the server in the folder themes/catch-everest/languages/ and verified that the wp-config of wordpress has correctly selected the language.
I would like to indicases if I’m doing something wrong, and if so how I can fix it to be Catch-Everest in Spanish.
Thank you very much and congratulations on your work.
A greeting.
March 21, 2013 at 12:14 am #5499SakinKeymaster@batmovil69: It should work if you have followed the tutorial. OK send me your translation file. I will see it.
March 21, 2013 at 1:59 am #5510batmovil69ParticipantSakin Goodnight, I’ve managed to solve the problem, it was a rookie mistake … : (
Name the translation files es-ES, when it should have called them es_ES.
The backend is already fully translated as you can see in the picture below
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/33831101/catch-everest_captura.png
but there are parts of the frontend still in English…

could you tell me if it is possible to translate them to have catch-everest completely in Spanish?
If you can send me an email address and I send the translation files to include them in future updates of the topic if you think fit.
Thanks and I hope your stories. A greeting.

November 13, 2013 at 5:58 am #17154caminaleMemberHello, I’m using your Catch Everest Theme and noticed that the es_ES.mo and es_ES (Gettext message Catalog) files are already in the /languages/ folder. Several questions please. I am setting up a multisite network and would like to have one of my sites with content in SPANISH and the other with content in PORTUGUESE.
-Is the Gettext message catalog file the same as a .po file? Your theme already came with those installed. I edited the wp-config.php file to (‘WPLANG’, ‘es_ES’) and am only interested in changing the theme to Spanish in one installation and to Portuguese in the other but the first one is not coming up in Spanish. Do I need to do something special to this if I also have the multisite network with the other site in Portuguese, all running Catch-Everest?
-Do I need to use the POEDIT program to change the translations line-by-line? My understanding is that the .po and .mo files for es_ES should already provide that and I assume the pt_BR .po and .mo files will too.
Thanks for your help
November 13, 2013 at 5:20 pm #17168SakinKeymaster@caminale: Yes all our translated is contributed by our user/contributors. Yes, we don’t have Portuguese translation file. So, you need to use poedit program, which you can download it from poedit.net and then care the file pt_BR.po and pt_BR.mo files.
Once you complete the translation, you can contact our sales http://catchthemes.com/contact-us/ with the file and then they will reward you as well as everyone will get updated theme. So, you will not lose your translation file while you update file.
Thanks for your contribution. Cheers 🙂
November 14, 2013 at 12:38 am #17193caminaleMemberThank you Sakin,
I will work on the Portuguese files. Don’t .po and .mo files from other themes work or is every .po and .mo file THEME-specific?
Also, I edited the wp-config.php file to (‘WPLANG’, ‘es_ES’) and it is NOT coming up in Spanish. I noticed that there is a wp-admin/language/ folder and put the es_ES.mo and .po files as well as under the wp-content/themes/catch-everest/languages but the theme still does not present in Spanish.
Any idea why?
Thank you!
November 14, 2013 at 2:11 am #17196SakinKeymaster@caminale: It should work. Check out http://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_in_Your_Language
No, you have to create new .mo and .po file. It’s always theme specific.
