Yesterday I tried to post a problem in this forum but it is still not displaying here. When I upgraded Adventurous Pro from v3.8.1 to v3.9 the site crashed. It seems a line in the child theme’s functions.php (which I downloaded from your site) is trying to find a file named ‘/inc/panel/adventurous-theme-options.php’. This file does not seem to exist in the 3.9 version of the parent theme. How can I fix this problem so my child theme will work with the 3.9 version of the theme?

@ikh1: No such coded in our child theme’s functions.php. Please make you’ve updated the theme successfully. Please post in your site url. Theme options option was removed from the theme in the latest update.

    Hi Mahesh,

I found a copy of the original child theme functions.php code I got from you and you’re right, that line must have been added later. We’ve had multiple people working on our site, and it seems someone has copied a bunch of code from the previous parent theme’s function.php file into the child theme’s function.php file. We’ll have to figure out and delete all the extra code and hopefully that will solve the problem. Thanks.

@rene: Are you using Catch Updater? If not, please follow the instruction below:
You’ll need to first download the theme from https://catchthemes.com/my-account/ page. Then install Catch Web Tools plugin and activate Catch Updater Module.

    Hi Mahesh,

Thanks, yes I do have Catch Updater but I think the problem is in our child theme. We hired a design company to do a bunch of redesign work for our department, which includes pamphlets, posters, letterhead, and our website. They’ve been adding a great deal of code to the child theme. They say the child theme is now fixed to work with the newest theme update, but it will likely need to keep getting fixed with future theme updates, which has me a bit worried. Is it a usual practice to make such extensive changes to a child theme? I could send you a copy of what they’ve done so far with our child theme, but I don’t see where I can send you an attachment.

@ikh1: You can do the desired customization through child theme so that you won’t lose anything while updating the main theme. You can upload the child theme to dropbox or google drive and then share the link here. Let me help you further if necessary.

    Regards,
    Mahesh
