Hi, I am using this theme on several of my sites successfully. On https://www.mattfurness.co.uk/session-drummer/ I am using a TP plugin to display testimonials as a slider. However the support for this plugin is no longer good and I would like to use a feature provided by Catch Themes. As far as I can see this theme does not offer a testimonial slider like, for example, Catch Fullscreen Pro. I can use Essential Content Types plugin, but as far as I can see this only offers a static testimonial display. Am I correct?
I also have Catch Slider Pro which might give me what I need.
The bottom line is that I want to have a display similar to that already there using Catch, without changing the theme. So, can you advise me on my best option please? Alternatively can you add the Testimonial Slider feature to Rock Star Pro to bring it in line with other themes, as that would make it easy for me!
Look forward to hearing from you.
Regards,
chris

You can use the ECT Testimonial Shortcode for adding testimonial.
Edit the page where you want to add ect testimonial => Add a new block => Add Shortcode widget => Insert the testimonial shortcode and Update the page. You can learn more about ECT shortcodes here.
Let me know if you have any issues regarding this.

Is it a big job to add a Testimonial Slider to the Rock Star Pro theme? I do not want to change the theme as the websites it is used on feature well in Google SERPS and look good, so must be written very effectively!
Thanks, Chris

June 23, 2020 at 6:13 am #250897SkandhaParticipant@rodeboy: Hello Chris,
I tried using testimonial shortcode at my end and the Testimonial slider appeared just like in other themes. Can you please try using the shortcode and let me know if you come across any issues?Kind Regards,
SkandhaJune 23, 2020 at 8:12 pm #250951RodeBoyParticipantThanks Skandha. In an attempt to get this right I am trying to get the slider working on the /privacy-policy/ page, where no one will ever go!! So, I have added 4 of the testimonials. They are showing, but in a static, one column format. Clearly I am missing an attribute to get them to display in a slider – where am I going wrong?!
As a side issue I have the Classic Editor plugin activated and so am not using blocks.

Can you let me know what testimonial shortcode you are using in the Privacy Policy page?Kind Regards,

Obviously I will not leave it on that page, I am just using it to get it to display correctly. In addition you can look and test it from your end too!
Thanks Skandha,
Chris

I tried the same shortcode at my end and the testimonial posts are appearing in a slider. I will need to look into your site to debug the issue. I will contact you shortly through email.Kind Regards,

As you know I am looking to replace the testimonials on the two pages they appear on the site (meet and CV) only, using the theme new ‘Testimonial’ feature. Can you please provide guidance on how to restrict the appearance of the testimonials to certain pages and secondly how to control where they appear on the page? I have looked and cannot see how this can be achieved using this feature, rather than the Essential Content plugin.
Thanks you,
Chris

July 11, 2020 at 8:36 am #252656SkandhaParticipant@rodeboy: Hello Chris,
To change the position of testimonial section you will need to create a child theme and do a little bit of customization. Let me know if you are familiar with child theme customization so that I can guide youKind Regards,
SkandhaJuly 11, 2020 at 1:02 pm #252674RodeBoyParticipantAs you will be able to see Skandha I have managed to adjust the layout of the two pages so that it looks fine. I need your help on one final thing please and that is to change the colour of the font for the title, the sub-title, the name and the position in the testimonial section on the CV page only to #333333. The actual quote itself can remain the same. I have tried myself but can’t seem to isolate these only.
Could you please provide the CSS coding required? Thanks.
Whilst I appreciate you guys adding the testimonial section I guess I was anticipating something similar to the structure found in Catch Fullscreen Pro where the colours, delay, etc could be adjusted. Is that not possible to allow a little more customisation?
Thank you, Chris
