The display of widgets on blog-views (posts) in “Catch Everest Pro” doesn’t work as intended. I can’t get the theme to display content in the Sidebar on pages with a single post – neither in the “Main Sidebar” nor in one of the “Optional Sidebars”. Although I assigned different widgets to the “Main Sidebar”, the “Optional Page Sidebar” or the “Optional Page Sidebar” the sidebar stays empty. It shows a blank white column.
Unfortunately List-, Archive- and Homepage-Sidebars are doing the other way around: As default the theme displays as search- and an archives-widget on these kind of views – even if there is no widget assigned in the backend. As soon as I do so the defaults get replaced by the new widget – and come back when I reverse the assignment. It seems there is no possiblity to get an empty Sidebar on List-, Archive- and Homepage.
How can I fix this issue? I already deactivated all plugins and reinstalled the theme. Same behaviour as before.

September 2, 2013 at 1:43 pm #14021Frank-OliverMemberok, how can we manage this? I’m not too keen to post any login-data on a public forum page 😉

September 2, 2013 at 3:43 pm #14025Frank-OliverMemberok, here is the link to my clean reinstall: http://www.digitalzimmer.de
1. On Home you can see the widgets “Search” and “Archives” on the sidebar – although there is no widget assigned in the backend (neither to “Main Sidebar” nor to “Optional Homepage Sidebar”)
2. On the 2 Posts you can see a completely blank sidebar – altough there is a “Kalender”-widget assigned to (to the “Optional Post Sidebar”).
I’m using use the blog page from “Settings => Reading” for my Homepage, all other Everest Pro functions such as “Homepage Headlines”, “Featured Content” and “Featured Slider” are disabled in Theme Options.
September 2, 2013 at 7:41 pm #14030Frank-OliverMember@Sakin: Did it help – or do you need any additional information?
September 3, 2013 at 2:38 am #14047SakinKeymaster@fogruen: Ok I just check in your site.
1. On Home you can see the widgets “Search” and “Archives” on the sidebar – although there is no widget assigned in the backend (neither to “Main Sidebar” nor to “Optional Homepage Sidebar”)
— If you want to disable the sidebar in the homepage, then you have to disable it from “Appearance => Theme Options => Layout Options”.
— If you don’t have any widget in sidebar then it will load the default item “Search Form” and “Archive”.2. On the 2 Posts you can see a completely blank sidebar – altough there is a “Kalender”-widget assigned to (to the “Optional Post Sidebar”).
— I see there is sidebar. But the widget is not loading. So, can you try adding any other widget to test it. You can try adding the text widget with some text on it.If you still cannot solve the issue then I have just emailed you. You can send me the screenshot of what you want and your site admin access through email.
September 3, 2013 at 1:02 pm #14058Frank-OliverMember@Sakin: Did you get my email? And did it help you to track the issue?
September 3, 2013 at 6:48 pm #14064SakinKeymaster@fogruen: Thanks a lot. I have been able to find the issue and have fixed in your site.
For all other, we will release the patch by checking all the details carefully.
March 24, 2014 at 5:12 pm #22452IrbiMemberHello Sakin,
I’ve the same problem with strange behaviour of optional post sidebar widgets.
The optional widgets I specified for all posts do not appear in new posts. Earlier I had the possibility to specify post ID where I wanted the widget to appear. Now there’s no advanced settings field and I cannot manage widgets the way I want. My website is http://photoyachting.ru/. And you may compare two posts: http://photoyachting.ru/poseidon_temple/ (post published in December, it has all needed sidebar widgets) and http://photoyachting.ru/britanik/ (post published today and none of the widgets except “search” appear).March 24, 2014 at 7:43 pm #22473IrbiMemberHi!
Have solved the problem. The plugin had some puzzling settings, so when detected, everything worked fineMarch 24, 2014 at 11:12 pm #22485 -
