MemberHi, Under slider options I see that there are several choices. What I would like is to have a slider which can display both page and post images. If I set this to “featured image slider” will this do it? I’m assuming that you by clicking on the image it will get you to the page or post?
Thanks,
Karin

Keymaster@karinschultz: By choosing “featured image slider” you can add upload image of your own choice, also control title, content and links all these optional. So, if you choose Featured Image Slider you can link to any page, post, category or even link outside your site. So even you can just add image without link. This give you total freedom.

MemberHi Sakin, Great! Thanks for the clarification. Would you recommend editing these to fit the slider proportions in an image editor first (i used picasa) before importing into wordpress media and from there set featured image slider? I had some issues with 1 of my images in the past, this resolved the issue.
Thanks,
Karin

MemberHi Sakin,
I’ve set the slider to Featured Image, enable on home page.
Under image, I’ve put in the url from my media library which is set to 976×313 in the thumbnail editor.
No link. Didn’t check off, “to open in new window”. The image comes in in the proper proportions but small (maybe it works on mobile). I know the images work correctly in the post, so is there another step I am missing? I am using Post Thumbnail editor and also resized images in Picasa.
Site is http://www.iwritegreatcopy.com. Thanks for your help.

Keymaster@karinschultz: When you click on insert into post for the image, I think you choose thumbnail. So for example you have added the following image
`http://www.iwritegreatcopy.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/iwritegreatcopyimage1-976×313-300×96.jpg`
instead of
`http://www.iwritegreatcopy.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/iwritegreatcopyimage1-976×313.jpg`So, you can either manually copy and paste the image url or when you click on insert into post, make sure you have selected “Full Size”.

MemberHi Sakin, Thanks for your help. Have adjusted and no problems, except 1 slider image came in larger. I’ve taken to editing the slider in picasa before uploading into wordpress and using it this theme – more control. Also, is the pro version more flexible in terms of the size of slider other than the 976 x 313?
Thanks for any info on this topics.Karin

Keymaster@robertmd: Looks like you are using Catch Everest Theme. Please post in the Catch Everest theme forum. Also if you want to adjust the image size and upload your own size then you have to use the Pro version and select Image Slider.
