I have set up my side bar and saved it but it is not showing up. I set it up in on the widgets page and saved all….  It was there before I switched to this theme but not now.

I am having the same problem as above with the Catch Everest theme. My widgets (main sidebar) are appearing on my only category page (news feed), I would like them to appear on my ‘homepage’ also but cannot figure out how to do this.

My layout is set to ‘right sidebar’ but nothing shows. I would preferably like to have a different sidebar on my homepage so that I can have various widgets on there that does not include ‘archives’. But I WOULD like to have ‘archives’ on my category page.

Please help as this theme is fantastic but this problem is causing me a lot of distress.

Sakin, you seem to be the man in the know! Can you help please?

@empeyzee: the homepage sidebar work only if you have latest post or page in the homepage. Can you send me your Site URL? So, that I can check in your settings.

Okay, I have tried enabling latest posts and then it works fine.

My problem is though that I do not want latest posts to appear on my homepage (www.set-the-stage.co.uk). I want it to appear exactly how it is now except I want the right sidebar to be there also.

Is there any way to do this? OR hide the latest posts etc.?

I absolutely love this theme but this issue could jeopardise my site! Please help! 🙂

@empeyzee: There is only one trick to do that.
1. Just create the page and add your image which you have it in your homepage featured content section.
2. Select that page as “Front page” from “Settings => Reading” and check “A static page (select below)” and select that page.
So this way you will have your page with sidebar.
3. Then you can disable your Featured Homepage Content from “Appearance => Theme Options => Homepage Settings => Homepage Featured Content Options”.

Thanks for the reply, I have been away so I apologise for the delay!

It is very important that the featured post slider function is still enabled on the homepage. Is there really no way this can be achieved at the same time as having a sidebar? Seems like quite a negative for such an impressive theme!?…

@empeyzee: For that you need to customize it by building child theme. Sorry you can not do everything by single theme options. So, you need to build custom.
