I updated Catch Box this morning.
http://wnccumc.orgFirst, I noticed that the site title began showing (though it was not clicked to show) below my logo. This never happened until after the update. It also does not show if you are logged in as administrator. Everything was working fine while logged in. I did n’t notice the problem until I saw the page on another computer that was not logged in.
I was able to take out the site title manually–it does not show now, however that messes up how the tabs look in the browser.
Further, this updated version has caused issues in performance. When the site is viewed as the general population sees it–it is very slow, the links plod and and it takes forever for pages to load, compared to before hte update. You don’t notice it when logged in as an administrator–everything seems to be fine.
I have a couple of other websites that work together with the main one that I have not updated to 3.6. They are working great without performance issues (they are all on the same server, no issues on the server–ex: http://leadwncc.org)
Again, the performance issues do not show up in 3.6 in administrator mode–but they do when logged out.
There are certainly some coding issues that need to be resolved.
I need this fixed immediately, or I need a copy of the old theme immediately to resolve the issue. My organization will not put up with these performance issues for long.

Please send me directions on how to restore the old catch-box theme files without destroying any of my .css changes. I have a copy of the styles.css file that seems to be the only different file based on a back up I have of the whole catch-box directory in “themes”
July 28, 2015 at 10:48 am #61657SakinKeymaster@mrichwncc: You are not supposed to edit any core files inside theme folder ‘catch-box’. All you edit will be reverted back to original when you update the theme. That is why for any css change, we recommend you to add either in “Appearance => Theme Options => Custom CSS” box or build child theme and add it in your child theme style.css. For more about child theme refer to http://catchthemes.com/blog/create-child-theme-wordpress/
We haven’t change much in Catch Box theme which could effect your design. So, you need to change the way you code. Thanks. For change log please refer to http://catchthemes.com/changelogs/catch-box-theme/

The Site Title should not show (if it is not checked to show) with the logo. Everything works great in Administrator mode, but when you log out, the issue occurs. The performance issues only show up when logged out–not when you are logged in. The same issue of site title was evident in another of the the four sites that I updated yesterday as a test (though performance issues were limited–it is a smaller database). Again, the problems only show up when not logged in as administrator.
NOTE- If you go to the site (wnccumc.org)…site title is not showing because I took it out under the headings menu. (leadwncc.org) is one of the sites I did not update, and it is working as expected,
I have been very happy with this theme and I am using it with 4 different sites (two were updated yesterday with similar issues–two I did not update and are working 100%).
I am sure it is something minor that is causing that one issue. But I do hope that you will take another look.
The only change in my CSS was to change an image border from 1px to 0px (I have tried to do this in Themes-Appearance as you suggested but cannot make it work-)–I have changed that one item every time you update with no incident or performance issues.
July 28, 2015 at 7:39 pm #61691SakinKeymaster@mrichwncc: If everything works in Administration mode and don’t work after you logout. This means you have Cache for user who is not logged in. For, that go to your “WP Fastest Cache” plugin and clear your cache.
July 29, 2015 at 5:46 am #61711mrichwnccParticipantIt appears that the problem might be the newest WP-Fastest Cache Update along with the newest WordPress Update. It was not playing well with Catch-Box. When I disabled it, performance issues went away.
July 29, 2015 at 8:26 am #61716SakinKeymaster@mrichwncc: Yes, we only recommend using W3 Total cache or WP Rocket Cache plugin.
August 8, 2015 at 2:50 am #62359BarbParticipantI am not sure how to post my question as I am a first time user. The following shows up on the front end of my site: “Continue reading → ” />” I don’t know how to get rid of it In addition, there are white lines at the bottom of the page. Probably they represent footer widgets which I am not using. How do I get rid of them.
