Hi,

How do I permanently remove the “leave a reply” from my pages?

I have already been to the Appearance > Discussion and un-clicked all those boxes. I have also checked the Screen Options on the specific page and I do not have the “comments” box checked.

Still have a reply.

@paulinepkehoe: the URL is not working. In individual page or post screen options, you have to check “Discussion”. Which will show you the discussion box under your post/page editor. Then uncheck “Allow comments.”

I am having the same issue. Like paulinepkehoe I have done “all of the above”
It seems to be a part of the default template, not a page or post. I would prefer to have a comments section on posts, but not on the front page.
Also, there does not seem to be a setting on the page to allow/disallow comments as there is in my other WP sites.

@GranPaSmurf: You must have set the front page from the Settings. So, yo have to edit that page. When you edit the page you will see “Discussion” box. There you have to uncheck
Allow comments.

Thanks for the prompt reply. I found the solution to my problem.
For community edification:
In the “Edit Page” there was not an option to allow/disallow comments. However, up top, there is a grey tab, “Screen Options” twirl-down. Among the “Screen Options” check boxes is “Discussion.” After ticking this box in “Screen Options” I can now allow, or not, comments on this individual page.
