    Hey!

I am using the Catch-Box theme & I was interested to change some code, so I created a child theme.

I basically first tried googling a guide & then did it by downloading the .zip on this page’s tutorial – the result was the same.

I have tried some stuff out already, I have my own header and I changed the background color etc.

Now if I activated my child theme, the theme worked, but all the things I had changed on the design did not show.
I didn’t see my logo “header”, the correct background color etc.

    What am I doing wrong?

@rubatos1s: Can you please explain in details? By own header, you mean custom header.php file or just the header section? And how have you put the code? Do are you trying to have a static header or the header through Customizer settings? And do you get any error message or something. Let me know further so that I can help you.

    Regards,
    Mahesh

    @mahesh

    Thank you for the answer!
    Maybe I expressed myself badly.

I did not have a child theme installed, just the normal theme.

And I set a logo picture through customization. Also changed background colour.

Now after I installed and activated child theme, contents of the page are same, just the background colour is changed back & also it doesen’t show my inserted Logo picture.

Why is it not showing the same page through child theme as original?
I thought it is supposed to?
Should I just change the settings to this way on child theme like I already did on the normal theme!

    Thanks!

@rubatos1s: Using Child theme is bit tricky in terms of settings. You’ll need to makeup your mind beforehand whether to use Child theme or Parent theme. The settings you make in Parent theme may not be used in Child theme which may cause to have default setting in Child theme. Activate the Child theme and please change the settings in it and see if that fixes the issue. Let me know further.

    Mahesh
