For the life of me I can not figure this simple thing out.

Essentially, I want either the first image of my blog post or the featured image to show with the excerpt of my blog posts.

If you view my blog page here http://thesimplicities.com/journal/ you will see that it only shows the title of the post and no image. I am using a gallery plugin to share photos in my blog posts.

I have tried to insert a singular image before the gallery. This image shows in the post but does not show in the excerpt. I have also tried setting a featured image with the same result, shows in the post but not in the excerpt.

I would really appreciate some help here!! Thanks

@devsta98 : I checked your site and it looks like you have not set a featured image for the post.  A post with featured  image contains has-post-thumbnail class in the article, which is missing on your post. Can you please check it again and let me know. Please update your theme to the latest version as you are using an older version of the theme. You may also try deactivating all plugins for testing purpose and activate again.

Hi, as stated, I have tried featured image and also doing an image as the first in post, neither works. I have now updated the theme and set up a featured image.

 

What is this class you are talking about? (in layman terms) I am not a website developer, just a regular dude. Not familiar with the terminology.

And now I notice the “featured image” doesn’t even show up in my post either. Shouldn’t it be the first image within the post?
