When I first installed and started working with Create (free), my Home page showed featured images, titles, and text from all my other pages (About Me, Contact, Blog) as well as a Home Page Section.
I wasn’t sure I liked that so I went about changing things in Customization until I got a Home page that was just that–a simple Home page with just Home page text.
But now I’d like the other layout back 🙂 And I’ve done everything I can think of, including resetting all Customization options to default, but it’s not happening.
What am I missing? How do I get back to that “kitchen sink” Home page layout?
Thanks! (www.phonesexfromtheheart.com)
August 21, 2017 at 12:48 pm #120740tikaramParticipant@lizzie: Resetting all the customization option to default will remove all your customization and it will roll back all your setting to the default one. Sorry to say that You will need to do your customization again to get back your site as previous one. Do not click on resetting all options when you have made your customization from theme options.

I hate to sound dense, but where do I reset the customization options? The only reset I can find is the “reset all settings” and that didn’t work.
I deleted the Create theme and reinstalled it. Still no change.
August 22, 2017 at 7:47 am #120888tikaramParticipant@lizzie: reset all settings will reset all the theme options to default but some settings may not reset such as widgets. If you still encounter problem with resetting your settings please let me know. I will check your site for additional issues.

TikaramAugust 22, 2017 at 10:40 am #120913LizzieParticipantThank you 🙂 I have reset several times, and as I mentioned, even deleted and reinstalled the theme, but the home page continues to display only the home page featured image and text.
The site is http://www.phonesexfromtheheart.com. I’ll appreciate anything you can do.
August 22, 2017 at 11:58 am #120920LizzieParticipantP.S. I seem to recall the Home page starting out as a custom link with an url that had something after the domain–www phonesexfromtheheart com/xxxxx, something I didn’t do (and I don’t remember what it was), and I changed that. Perhaps that’s it?
August 24, 2017 at 3:02 am #120993August 24, 2017 at 10:09 am #121015LizzieParticipantI’m sorry, I guess my posts weren’t clear. No, I have reset, and the problem has not resolved.
August 26, 2017 at 11:30 am #121118LizzieParticipantContinuing unresolved.
August 28, 2017 at 6:30 am #121199tikaramParticipant@lizzie: Do you have any screen shot that shows how your site was before the changes were made?
Please check this URl: http://phonesexfromtheheart.com/blog/ . Is it similar to the previous home page.If you would like to show your latest post on your home page
Go to Appearance => Customize => Static Front Page
UnderFront page displays
Select Your latest posts and save.Regards,
TikaramAugust 28, 2017 at 8:07 pm #121245LizzieParticipantThank you very much, Tikaram. I understand how to put my blog on the front page. However, it isn’t quite the effect I want.
I didn’t save a screenshot, but I was able to make a basic replica from memory. It may not be exactly right, but it’s pretty close. Here you go:

Also, a new problem: Two pages, “A Homepage Section” and “Original Home Page Recreated” are not menu items. They should not show on the menu. I can’t get them to go away.
August 29, 2017 at 2:58 am #121270tikaramParticipant@lizzie:Glad to know that you are working on your homepage to make it as it was before
To remove menu items
Go to Appearance => Menus.
Under Menu Structure click on the menu name to expand it and click on remove to remove from menu items and finally save the menu.Regards,
TikaramAugust 29, 2017 at 12:11 pm #121286LizzieParticipantThank you, but I still don’t know how to get my homepage back to that appearance. That’s what I’m asking you for help with. The reset to default doesn’t change it back.
Those two pages ARE NOT ON the Menu Structure.
It’s very frustrating to have such a great theme–that doesn’t work.
August 29, 2017 at 2:40 pm #121289LizzieParticipantI added a screenshot of the page with the Menu Structure on the same page as the screenshot you requested of the original homepage layout I’m trying to get back to. Here is the link again:

August 30, 2017 at 5:35 am #121326tikaramParticipant@lizzie: I already mentioned you that reset to default will not bring your site back as it was before. You will need to work on your site and recreate everything again. It’s not a theme related issue, the theme is working fine in 5000+ websites. How many menus do you have on your site? The menu you posted in screen shot is not the menu appearing on your home page.

TikaramAugust 31, 2017 at 1:04 am #121389LizzieParticipantThank you, Tikaram. I agree I need to work on the site and recreate everything again. I’m asking how to do that–that’s why I posted on this forum. I’ve spent hours and hours on it.
I only have one menu on the site. Yes, the menu in the screen shot is not the menu on the home page. That is the problem.
I agree that this is not a theme-related issue. There should be a way to achieve what I’m asking for, and the menu problem makes me suspect that the theme as installed on my site is corrupted. As I have already tried deleting and reinstalling the theme to no avail, I’ll try deleting the wordpress installation and starting from scratch.
I hope you will see that it is a compliment to the theme that I am willing to go to these lengths and spend this much time to make it work for me.
Thank you for your help.

TikaramSeptember 5, 2017 at 12:40 am #121624LizzieParticipantThank you, Tikaram, for your help and for going above and beyond. I am now going forward with the rest of my site-building and I am totally delighted with how it looks.
Again, many thanks, for your help and for an awesome theme!
