I would like to make my pages full width to fit my site.

I wont be using any side bar widgets so want to use the whole width of my page.

Also is there a way of bringing the spacing down between the header image and the Nav bar?

You can reduce the padding button and add the following css in “Appearance => Theme Options => Custom CSS” box.
#hgroup-wrap { padding-bottom: 50px; }
