Hello! Have another question regarding my WordPress site which I’m hoping someone can help with to narrow down potential culprits. My site is http://www.bevontule.com and I am using the Featured Slider with three different images at the recommended resolutions (1600px by 533px, I believe?). I’ve noticed that it sometimes takes several seconds to display the initial image/load the slider and was wondering if there are any ways in which I can speed this up. I am not afraid to edit the code directly if necessary, but I’m not really sure where to start. Obviously changing the pictures from PNGs to JPEGs would probably provide a speed increase, but I’m wondering if there are any other tricks that I can use to get it as fast as possible (perhaps the slider is loaded after everything else on the page?). After the page has been cached, the images load fairly quickly, but clearing the cache and then refreshing the page still produces a noticeable delay before the first image in the slider appears. Any ideas on how to speed this up? Thanks!

    Hi @LiminalLLC,

The issue is not because of the theme itself. It is simply because of the size of the images ( all 3 images are more than 1MB ). We recommend you to optimize the image size. Your idea of changing images from png to jpg is perfect.
The recommended size for the slider is:
    Slider
    Width: 1920px
    Height: 800px

    Regards,
    Mahesh
