I’ve attempted several times to update the theme to the current version of 4.6. After the update is run the featured content section returns to the default demo version. How do I fix this?

@karbasetti: Checked on our server, no such issue found. All theme settings are retained after update as it should. How did you updated the theme? Did you get any error messages while updating?

I updated through the catch updater plugin. I received no error messages. I’ve tried three separate times and it happens each time and I am forced to restore the site from my backup. What is the next step to resolve the issue? I want to keep my site current and I don’t want to have to redo the section from scratch.

@karbasetti: The update should not be making any changes to the database. I checked it on our server and didn’t face any issue like you’ve mentioned. Does it revert everything to default or just the Featured Content section?

Just the featured content section. Everything else remains unchanged. Any advice? I want to keep my site current without redoing work already completed.

@karbasetti: Checked in your server and yes the issue existed as you’ve mentioned. The issue seem to be arose due to jumping/skipping update or something. In theme customizer (Dashboard=> Appearance=> Customize), the Homepage Featured Content Option option went back to Demo Content, then I changed the option to Select Content Type and thing went back to normal. I did the update again two times to the latest version and the settings were all working fine.
Please check and let me know if any problems.

Hi Mahesh,

Sorry to bother you but now the header image I use on my site keeps reverting back to the demo version. I will email you a screen shot. I had to restore the site the backup I created on March 30. Please advise on how to update without affecting my design or content. I have not disabled your log on yet.

@karbasetti: I checked your site, you don’t have any header image in your site, but you do have the slider. I updated the theme to latest version and the update is working fine, no setting rolled back to defaults. Please check your email for attachment.
