I have installed new theme update and all my previous customization is gone!!! This is very disappointing.

@Olivia: It’s not supposed to me like that. If you have change any core theme files inside your theme folder then it will be lost as when you update or upgrade the theme, all theme files will be reverted back to original. But all the changes you have made from Theme Options panel will be safe. So, if you need to edit any core theme files, then you need to build child theme and edit it.

Thank you for quick response. I have not made any changes to core theme files. All of the changes have been done from the options panel. So my Slider pictures are gone and color have been changes everywhere.

@Olivia: That’s shouldn’t be happening. Which theme are you using it and can you send me your site URL?

Sure. I am using Catch Responsive Pro theme and the site is http://www.craftmaxfl.com I am in the process of manually changing everything back.

@Olivia: You have totally change the folder name and files. I see that you have install theme as CatchPro-Update folder. It is supposed to be catch-reposnive-pro folder. Also you shouldn’t add or edit any files inside catch-reposnive-pro folder.

Is there a way to reverse the change?

The weird think is that I downloaded the updated directly from My Account on Catch Responsive Pro. And I used Catch Updater plugin to make an update.

@Olivia: It depends on how you first install the theme. You can check in from your FTP. So, the best option I see if that you delete that old version and then install new version from “Appearance => Themes => Add New => Upload Themes”. Catch Updater just updates the themes. It doesn’t check for theme folder.

I initially installed the theme as Appearance => Themes => Add New => Upload Themes. Today i installed the Catch Updater plugin, I downloaded the update from “My Account” and then I went back to: Appearance => Themes => Add New => Upload Themes It asked me if I want to apply updates to existing theme and if I want to create a backup. That is all I did. I am pretty new to this and I am afraid that if I delete the theme now, it will mess it up even more.
