I’m trying to create a right sidebar to be placed on article pages. Then, I want to add content to the sidebar that will include the author’s photo and bio. How do I do that?

Go to => Dashboard => Appearance => Widgets => Text Widget => Add it to Post Sidebar => Add the required text and Image and Save,

Thank you. I have created two such widgets and have added them to “post sidebar.” However, they are not showing up on the articles themselves. How do I make that happen?

Go to => Appearance => Customize => Theme Options => Default Layout => Select Content on left and Publish.

That helps. Thank you. I can now get specific author bios and photos on an article. But the commentaries are provided by different authors. I need to have different author photos and bios (in a widget) on different articles. How do I do that?

Do you mean to have the author widget on each single post page depending on who the author of the post is? For this you will need find a suitable plugin from the WordPress Plugin Repository.

The theme offers an Author Bio section at the end of each post.
For that you will need to
Go to => Dashboard => Users => All Users => Edit the users and add Biographical Info for them and Save Changes.

Thank you, again. I will check the plugin option. Yes, the site has multiple authors so the right sidebar on each article must be customized to the author of that article. Such widgets already exist in many cases.

A second question: If we choose “content left” (sidebar right) does that apply to all pages on the site other than the home page, or can that be customized by navigation section? i.e. does “content left” put the sidebar right on all pages under different sections in the main nav?

The sidebar option can be changed for each post or page.

For that,
Edit a post/page => Catch Box Option on the right sidebar => Sidebar Layout Options => Select the option that you want and Update the page/post.
