On my site I have the comments box UNCHECKED from SHOW ON SCREEN. Also  Allow people to post comments on new articles is unchecked in the settings.

However my posts still are allowing other users to leave comments.

I just added a facebook plugin but that didnt change anything ( long shot I know )

Thoughts?

As a follow up I just installed a comment disabler plugin.

@mangogear: It’s strange. As when I test it I can easily disable comment. Just activate the comment box through screen options in your post as show in this screenshot http://catchthemes.com/support-images/enable-discussion-box.png and then uncheck Allow Comment and Allow Trackback as shown is this screenshot http://catchthemes.com/support-images/uncheck-to-disable.png

@sakin, I’ve disabled comments on individual pages and in discussion settings. Using CSS I was able to remove the author from this line and remove the comments part on the blog page. However, when I open a specific blog post, it still shows “comments off”. Is there a way to remove it from single post pages as well? The CSS for the author seems to have worked on both, but the comments part did not.

@amberatx: In your child theme replace the css
.no-padding-left { display: none; }
with
.entry-meta .no-padding-left, .entry-meta span { display: none; }
