    hi,

I have almost finished a website with the free Catch Box theme. Love the theme. . However…. I would like to upgrade to the catch box pro. But, stupid me…. I haven’t created a child theme of the free Catch box. Thus… If I am going to use the Catch Box Pro everything will be overwritten.. I know, stupid.

Can you please suggest me how I easily can create a child theme after which I will buy the catch box pro?

    rgds and thanks in advance

@Iris: Making changes in the core theme file is not recommended. Because it gets overwritten when you upgrade or even update your theme. So, if you are making any css changes then you can use our “Custom CSS” box in your theme options. So, that you can just copy the css and put it back.

Creating a child theme is very easy. You just to define the template in new style.css of child theme. Check this tutorial http://wp.tutsplus.com/tutorials/theme-development/child-themes-basics-and-creating-child-themes-in-wordpress/

    Hello,

I´m using free Catchbox theme. My question is it really so that when I use the “Custom CSS” that I don´t need to create Childtheme just for changing the CSS.

    I´m thankfull for any answer…

@marga: Yes, if you are just customizing CSS then you can use Custom CSS box and no need to create child theme.
