OY HELP! I accidentally hit reset this AM (not enough coffee) and it reset all the changes I made to the theme in the customization dashboard. This site resides locally on our network, so I had my IT person override the entire wordpress folder using Friday’s backup. This did NOT bring back my customization.

Where is that located so I can have IT look for it in the backup? Or am I hosed and have to start over?

@thowie: Hello there,
The only way to recover your customizer settings is if you had your database backed. You can try restoring your database if you have a backup.

To prevent this from happening we had setup a message Caution: Reset all settings to default. Process is irreversible. when you click on Reset in the customizer but looks like you went through with Caution message as well.

Let me know if you are able to recover your customizer settings.

I did that too at one point thinking it would just reset back to the last ‘Save’ – ie would only involve what I had done on THAT session. The reset should be at the very bottom perhaps. not at the top since you would only use it if you were starting over.
