    I have latest version of Catch Box free theme and latest version of WordPress. However, check box is not showing for privacy policy. Apparently, it should be there as a default in WordPress and so Catch is over-riding it. In another support topic, I see that the theme should allow me to customise comments. It doesn’t. Also, I have seen reference to unchecking the box ‘Users must be registered and logged in to comment’ in the discussion area of WordPress settings. I need this check box for GDPR compliance purposes. I have installed the Cookie Compliance plugin in the hope that that would fix it. It hasn’t. Please help me get this checkbox back to the WordPress default.

    @leafn4give: Hello there,
    Can you please clarify which checkbox you are referring to or do you mean to have a Privacy Policy Link in your site?

    Kind Regards,
    Skandha

    Hi Skandha

    Thanks for getting back to me about this.

    When someone posts a comment on a post (e.g. https://timeissliding.earth/2021/07/07/appetiser/), there should be a check box for them to tick to say that they accept the privacy policy. If they don’t tick it, their comment should goe nowhere.I understand that this is a WordPress default but all my comment box has is a check box relating to saving the commenter’s data to enable more easily submitted comments in future.

    I hope that this identifies my problem OK.

    @leafn4give: Hello there,
    There is a check box Save my name, email, and website in this browser for the next time I comment. when someone tries to comment on the post. Isn’t this what you are referring to? This is the GDPR Comment Privacy Opt-in Checkbox.

    Kind Regards,
    Skandha

    Thanks Skandha.

    The check box you say is GDPR compliant would be OK if it also demands, in the same sentence perhaps, acceptance of the privacy policy. The privacy policy covers more than just the details saved.
