I am trying to limit the amount of text in my feature content excerpt of CleanJournalPro. Then in the page it links to, I have a pdf of a story. But the excerpt always grabs the words of the pdf headline and puts it out front on the featured content page, which looks dumb. How can I put a hard stop to end that excerpt where I want it to end? I’ve tried the html break but that didn’t work.

    Mahesh,

    have a look here:
    http://www.bosmolka.com/

Still under construction but should be viewable.

Here is what featured content 1 looks like. Don’t want all that web site address as part of the excerpt. Want to end the excerpt at “it’s a terrible idea”

    A Ravens game on
    Christmas? Bah humbug

The NFL pretty much rules the world, and doesn’t really care what you think about it, which is why the Ravens will be playing at Pittsburgh on Christmas Day. It’s a terrible idea. http://www.csnmidatlantic.com/baltimore-ravens/ravens-game-christmas-bah-humbug

@bsmolka: Just checked your site and it says it’s under construction and cannot see anything else than the Splash image.
Well, about the excerpt length, its kinda hard to put read more where you want with the excerpt length number as it counts the words and may not meet the end result as you wanted (the current issue).
Instead what you can do is, use WordPress’s Excerpt option.
Go to Edit posts, find Screen Options located on the top right beside Help button, click it and make sure Excerpt checkbox is checked. Then Scroll down to Excerpt Section. Put the content you want to show into your site as the excerpt and click Update.
    Hope this helps.

Sorry. I thought I had taken it out of ‘under construction’ mode… Anyway, I’ll try that with the excerpt option. Thx
