I have found the offending plugin, which was affecting the good working of your theme.

It is the Tooltip plugin from Thomas Shu (https://tomas.zhu.bz/wordpress-plugin-tooltips.html/.

Disabling it fixes all the URL problems
Re-enabling it makes the theme having troubles with the ‘Read More’ URL’s.

All works well now.

Intermediate report.

I have not customized the theme. In the meanwhile I have purchased the pro version, because the theme is too good not to have but the same problems occur there also.

All links refer to the correct page except the ‘read more’ buttons if I select to display ‘Show Excerpt’. All links refer to the same URL, regardless of the section I activate. So I have currently set all sections to ‘Hide Content’, because the title link of that section does refer to the correct page…

I will continue to further look into it, by going over the plugins one by one by disabling them.
