May 5, 2017 at 10:29 am in reply to: Display Hero content full width on home page without image #115274FParticipant
Hi Mahesh,
1) I am working with a child theme already.
2) Actually, the theme does allow for multiple displays of Hero Content on the front page. In the Customize – Hero Content section, it gives you the ability to set up to 20 pages to display as Hero Content.
3) Thanks for the code. It worked, except it also removed the Portfolio images on the front page display. Is there any way to remove the Hero Content images from the front page without inadvertently removing the Portfolio images as well?
Many thanks!
FParticipantThanks, Mahesh.
FParticipantThanks, Pratik. The update fixed it.
FParticipantHi Pratik,
I’ve created a demo site so you can see the issue I’m trying to resolve:
If you look at the Featured Slider at the top of the homepage, you will see that the excerpt appears but not the button that says Continue Reading. In the Helena Pro demo, the Featured Slider shows the excerpt plus the linked button. How do I achieve this for posts that are on the Featured Slider?
Thanks!
FParticipantHi Pratik,
I understand. I may have to wait until the site is live to figure out a few issues.
However, when I go to Appearance > Customize > Featured Slider there is no option that says Excerpt or Show Content. All that is available is as follows: Enable Slider; Transition Effect; Transition Delay; Transition Length; Image Loader; Slider Type; No of Slides; and Select Categories. There is nothing there that addresses excerpts.
Thanks!
FParticipantThanks, Pratik! All fixed now.

FParticipantHi Pratik,
I figured this out. This was a brand new WP install and, while I had created lots of posts, I had not yet created a page. The static front page option does not even show anywhere until you have created at least one page.
Whew!
Cheers,
FFParticipantAlso, this is a brand new WP install, so I haven’t loaded any themes other than the typical ones, like Akismet. I will do some investigating to try to see where the issue lies.

FParticipantHi Pratik,
That’s the weird thing, the option for a static front page is not available in Dashboard=> Settings=> Reading either. It’s like it just disappeared, not just from Helena Pro customization options, but from WP as well.
Thanks,
FFParticipantTo clarify, this is the option to display a static page/post on your front page instead of your latest posts.

February 17, 2017 at 9:53 pm in reply to: Increase size of title font on home page feature slider #110129FParticipantHi Pratik,
I tried this, also with no result. I set it to a larger number and also a small one (15px) so that the change would be obvious, and nothing changed.
A mystery! Any other suggestions?
Thanks,
FFParticipantCheers, and thanks!
FParticipantPerfect, thanks Pratik.
FParticipantOkay, thank you.
FParticipantHello Pratik,
Is there any way to add them to Helena Pro? I’m specifically looking for a widget area that comes after the content of posts and pages.
Thank you,
FFParticipantMany thanks for your help, Pratik. The website is coming together nicely.
Cheers,
FFParticipantPerfect! Thanks, as always, Pratik.
February 16, 2017 at 10:39 pm in reply to: Increase size of title font on home page feature slider #110000FParticipantHi Pratik,
Thank you.
Could you please clarify what the first set of code controls, specifically?
#featured-content .entry-title, #feature-slider .entry-title, #header-featured-image .entry-title, #header-highlights-content .entry-title {
font-size: 24px; /*Increase/decrease font-sized , Default is 22px*/
}When I change the font size of this code, I do not see changes (perhaps I am looking in the wrong place). When I change the second set of code (the part that comes after @media screen), I definitely see the title font change in the “Featured Content” section, in the body of the home page (the part in the demo that has entries such as “photo shoot” “wildlife photography”. https://catchthemes.com/demo/helena/
However, there is no change in the title of the slider at the top of the homepage, where the posts display (“Top 8 Mountain Getaways”)
Kindly,
FFParticipantHi Pratik,
I’m not certain, I’d like to demo a few options for my client. Can you give me the method, and then I guess I would insert the font family and try a few different ones until I find one I like.
Is the font for the primary menu bar the same as the body font?
FParticipantPratik,
Thank you! This worked perfectly.
