I have just updated my Catch Responsive Pro theme to version 3.7. It is saying my child theme is now broken, and so I’ve had to revert to the parent theme. When viewing my site live, my pictures and text in both the featured content and featured slider are not there, however when I go in to customise them, they are there within the customise view. If I make any updates, save and come out, they’ve then disappeared again in the live view and are replaced by images that come with the template.

Firstly, what have I done wrong when updating the theme? I thought that if I had chosen a child theme, I just had to update the parent and everything would be fine?

Secondly, how can I now update my site so that what I see in the customise page is the same as what will be visible in the live view.

    Thanks

    David

    Hi @ifyouneedadj,

The update should not have created that issue. And was the theme update successful? Is the updated theme running fine?
As you’ve said, working with child theme, you just have to update the parent theme and everything would be fine. You are correct.
While updating the site, the changes you’ve set and seen in the customizer should reflect in the frontend as well. I assume you’ve clicked save after your customization.
Let me know if I can help you further.
Please post in your site url and email us your child theme(zip) so we can check the problem.

    Regards,
    Mahesh
