I am trialling the free theme catch box but it is registered as “accessibility ready” however has read more links without additional description,   This is a fail for accessibility and Wp accessibility plugin cannot fix this issue because it is registered as an accessibility ready theme with wp. How can I fix this or should it be suspended by wp as not accessibility ready theme?

Thank you for your query. We understand your concerns; however, WordPress themes typically do not include accessible names and labels for links. This does not present any problems. You can verify this by examining the latest Twenty Twenty theme or other popular themes.

WCAG2.2 states links should not have the same text ie “Read More” in a page. The Wp Accessibility plugin looks to correct this by changing the Read More to Read More subject title .

However because of the accessibility ready status of the theme this is disabled. Is there anyway to adapt your theme to change the Read More links as it is flagging as WCAG2.2 non compliant so we have to find a solution for our site. Thank you

Hi @fa6ab,

Can you post the URL of the page that has “Read More” on it? We don’t have Read More on a page.

We only have “Continue Reading” with screen-reader-text as the post title on the Aprichive page for posts.

Ah ok I must be mistaken then. I think another plugin must be overriding then. Thanks for your help.
