I developed the site (http://wildchildoutdoors.com/) in a subfolder and changed the General Setting Site Address (URL) to the site’s root when the site was complete in order to “go live”. I also copied and updated index.php to the site root, changing the location of wp-blog-header.php to include the subfolder name. All works perfectly with just a couple of minor tweaks.

But, when I go to Appearance > Customize, a login screen appears in the preview window instead of the site preview. Is there a setting I can change to make this work properly? Thank you.

@Gayle: You cannot just change from subfolder to live site. You need to do as it mentioned in http://codex.wordpress.org/Moving_WordPress
