I am using qTranslate with Catch Box Pro. It is working well, except my homepage featured slider is only pulling the Image and Excerpt in English, even on the French homepage.
How do I change the code or use tags to fix this? Thank you in advance.
November 18, 2014 at 8:27 am #47688SakinKeymaster@P: I am not sure about qTranslate plugin in detail. So, you might want to consider adding this question in qTranslate plugin.
As per my finding. You can use the quick tags for
[:en]Hello[:fr]Bonjour
If the quick tags give you problems then use the default like,
HelloBonjourDecember 9, 2014 at 2:37 am #48653PParticipantThank you, I have tried using the quick tags in one of my Feature Slider posts.
When I do that, all four posts on the slider switch to French, including on the English and french homepages.
Am I missing a tag somewhere or is there an extra one I should remove? If so where?
December 9, 2014 at 3:17 am #48654PParticipantI have also tried changing the slider type from “post” to “image”. I entered all the fields with short tags (one image, [:en] and [:fr] for url and text fields), and came up with the same result: didn’t switch languages with the rest of the page content.
Also unusual: I put my slider back to the post option, and for a few minutes it only displayed in French on En and Fr home pages. Now, after a few minutes, it has switched back to English.

December 9, 2014 at 8:20 pm #48675PParticipant@Sakin URL is http://binational.net. There’s no cache plugin installed on the site. Thanks for taking a closer look.
December 9, 2014 at 9:46 pm #48677SakinKeymaster@P: Ok I see that you are using mqtranslate plugin and not qtranslate plugin, that is why you have issue. We haven’t added support for mqtranslate plugin.
For now, you can build child theme and the copy the functions from
catchbox-qtranslate.php
and add that in your child theme functions.php file. For child theme you can look at http://catchthemes.com/blog/create-child-theme-wordpress/We will try to add mqtranslate plugin support in future version update.
December 10, 2014 at 1:40 am #48695PParticipantThat seems to be a functional patch – thank you! Very happy with the theme otherwise, it has worked well in the multilingual setting.
I will also look forward to mqTranslate support in a future theme update. I suspect this will be a common problem for many of your clients until (or if) qTrans becomes compatible with WP4.
December 11, 2014 at 1:02 am #48723SakinKeymaster@P: yes I didn’t know that qTranslate has problem with the latest version of WordPress. If you are using qtranslate then you can check this https://wordpress.org/support/topic/qtranslate-compatibility-with-wordpress-401, there is Patch.
