    Hi Sakin,

First off, I hope you and your family is fine. My prayers are with you mate!

I would like to know whether the featured slider image can be customized in size. I mean, my website hosts pictures that are huge in size so if I put category in featured slider the image that come up is so huge. So my question is this…

Is it possible to limit the size of the image on the featured slider? Also a soft crop function would be awesome in addition to the ability to customize the size of the image for the featured slider.

I’m looking forward to your response mate.

@alphaxyz: We are all doing fine. But this frequent earthquake aftershocks are killing lot of people. We are also not feeling that well. Yesterday, I suddenly got fever. But we are trying to be strong and be safe. Thanks.

If you choose Slider type as “Featured Page Slider/Featured Post Slider/Featured Category Slider” then it will take “catchbase-slider” size of width 1200px and height 514px. So, if you upload less then this size then it will load your original image but in you upload image size greater then this then it will crop exactly in this size. But if you choose “Featured Image Slider” as the Slider type, then, theme doesn’t crop it. It will load the original image that you have uploaded.

    Thank God you’re ok!

I sincerely hope you will recover soon mate!

Thanks for your explanation on how the slider thing works. If you have time please check my website http://forexquestionsandanswers.com/ as the slider’s text/link is way above the slider. Please fix it so the text is placed in the middle of the picture of the slider (not above or below).

Also, can you fix the arrows (left and right) for next and previous slider so that they are placed properly. Right now as you can see, the arrows are a bit lower than the location of the slider.

It would be awesome if you can fix the problems on the next update of Catch Base Pro.

    Another problem I see is the length of the title. Some posts have long title so it would be better to limit the character to something like 40 character and any title longer than the number of characters set above will be cut and appended with a &helip;

This will make the theme much more robust, flexible, adaptive and adjustable for all users.

@alphaxyz: Abut the slider text. You slider image are too small that is why the text is not able to fill up. Please upload larger size images and it will fix this issue.

If you choose Slider Type as “Featured Image Slider”, then you can add title as much as you need it.

Yes, I intentionally made them small for a purpose.

I thought maybe you could make the title to be in the center of the image because the way I see it you fixated the title right in the middle of catch base slider size which is 1200px and height 514px because no matter which size I tried the title will not be in the center of the image unless I use the exact size of 1200 x 514.

@alphaxyz: So what you want me to do with the text. Let me know it and then I can try in. Maybe you can upload screenshot in your site and show what you want and paste in your url. Then I will check in your desired screenshot and check in.

    Hi Sakin,

Sorry for the late reply…haven’t been able to get a good internet connection because I’m away from home for sometime now.

As you can see, I used every feature you offered on CB Pro and I really, really love the theme.

It would be an even more superb theme if you can add another Featured Content that can be placed before Footer Area 1 and Footer Area 2 (take a look at my website http://forexquestionsandanswers.com/). If you can do it I plan to put my category for vids to make my website more awesome all thanks to your theme 🙂 Most theme maker don’t pay attention to the bottom part of their themes so it would be great if you can do it. However, if you can’t do it then I will try to make-do by using other method with what’s available.

I’m looking forward to your creativity.

@alphaxyz: There is option to move Featured Content above footer. For that go to “Appearance => Customize => Featured Content => Featured Content Options” and then check in option “Check to Move above Footer”.

Ahh… sorry I missed that. Yes, now I can move it.

As for the request…can you add another featured content so I can have 2 featured content – I will place the first one under the featured slider and the other one above the footer.

Having 2 featured content is an awesome thing for my type of website.

I hope you can look into this and materialize the request.

I’m looking forward to your consideration 🙂

@alphaxyz: Sorry no plan for 2 featured content area. As you can also use Footer Widget Area and add anything you like. If you want more option, then there is always option to build child theme. For child theme refer to http://catchthemes.com/blog/create-child-theme-wordpress/

    Thanks for the reply.

Yes, I’m running a child theme on my website. How to add 2nd featured content above the footer via child theme? It would be great if you can give me the code to accomplish this.

@alphaxyz: Sorry it cannot be done that easy as there is no option to add in, we need to first add option in theme customizer then again we need to code that. Sorry, I will not be able to give support at this level.
