Importing Demo Content in Catch Themes’ WordPress themes with Catch Themes Demo Import Plugin

First of all, you need to install a WordPress theme crafted by our Catch Themes team. We have added the demo content files in all of our latest themes. Also, we have started providing predefined demo files in our older themes as well.

After you install and activate our WordPress theme, it is now time you install and activate the Catch Themes Demo Import Plugin.

Please note: In order to import the complete demo content to your website including sections like Portfolio, Testimonials, Featured Content, and Services, you will have to activate our Essential Content Types (ECT) plugin. If you don’t have the plugin installed, you will be notified about it right after you activate the Catch Themes Demo Import Plugin. You can either directly download the ECT free version from the notification or you can buy the premium version.

Once you activate the demo import plugin, you will be directly redirected to the plugin’s dashboard. There, you can see the available demo options you can go for.

For this tutorial, I have installed our theme, Bold Photography Pro. Since there are three Demos Styles available in the theme, the dashboard now displays three options I can go for.

Now, simply click the “Import” button of the demo style you like the most. Here, I am going to go for the “Light Premium” option.

A popup will appear asking if you want to import the demo content. Click on “Yes, import!”

Now, you will have to wait for a couple of minutes to get all the demo content imported to your site. You will be notified the minute everything is up and ready.

Please Note:
When you import the data, the following things might happen:

• No existing posts, pages, categories, images, custom post types or any other data will be deleted or modified.
• Posts, pages, images, widgets, menus, and other theme settings will get imported.
• Please click on the Import button only once and wait, it can take a couple of minutes.

That’s all there is to it. You can now visit your site to see the demo content placement.

Oh, wait! What if you don’t have the predefined files to import the demo data? Don’t worry! You can import it manually as well. However, it will take a little longer. Head over to Appearance > Catch Themes Demo Import page. You will have to upload three different files. You can ask for the demo content files in our Support Forums.

The first (and the most important) one is to upload a demo content XML file, this file will import the actual demo content. The second one is to upload a WIE or JSON file; it is for widgets import. Similarly, the third one is to choose a DAT file for importing the customizer settings. You can use our Catch Import Export plugin to export and import the customizer settings. The first file is mandatory and the rest of the two files are optional.

Upload the files and click on the “Import Demo Data” button to import the demo content. Your site will now have the exact content placement as the demo style.
