Widgets only work in home page / footer sections

I am trying to add a widget on a page separate from the home page. My issue is that when I add the widget, it only partially works. For example, the video embed functionality allows me to embed videos however the background image portion does not seem to work properly. When i click the "Upload" button it should launch the media page, but it does nothing. Additionally, if I copy and paste a known good image URL from the media library it does not appear. Lastly, the grid format for the embedded video seems messed up as it overlays two of the videos on top of each other. I am using Rock Star Pro theme, and all of this functionality works as expected when I add the widgets to the footer sections within the theme. Am I doing something wrong?
