White space around header

Hi, Regarding website www.worldcupbrazil.net I have added an image as header (1002 x 986x) but all this white space surrounds the header image. Also the search appears underneath. How do I remove the search and put in the menu? And how do I remove all this white space? I entered the code #hgroup-wrap, #site-logo { padding: 0; } in custom CSS but no resolve. Also if I use a huge image, the problem exists. Can you help us out? Thanks in advance.
